that looks to have a really slack head, should go downhill like a rocket. I think if I was on the market for a new ride I`d deffo be checking out the commie range. 66degree HA which is the same as the last Commencal and that was great downhill just not on the pedally bits, now they have slightly revised the rest of the geo and the shock layout to make the bike climb better as well as make the rear more progressive for easier pedaling. How do you find the sizing Euan ? I see yours is a large, how tall are you ? Im just a touch under 6ft, sizing wise its similar to my old Meta SX which was a good fit with a 50mm stem, this one has a slightly longer TT so I may reduce the stem to a 40mm but going to see what I think of the longer TT malarky first. The problem with the Canyon was while it felt like a good fit initially it wasnt till after a few rides that I realised that I felt cramped, I adjusted everything to make it acceptable but I was right on the limits and thats the problem, I'm ether right at the top of the medium or at the bottom of the large

Yeah, thats one of the things I like about the new design Top bolt that goes through from the non drive side Looking up into the shock housing Drive side shot, one thing I would change is the bottom bolt, it bolts in from the bottom, I would prefer it to be bolted from the top so as you wont lose the bolt if it somehow managed to loosen off

Sweet, love the way it's tucked in. If the extra can was missing from the shock it would look like its part of the frame!

I've just had to send Commencal an email with regards to the wheels on my bike, they have advertised them as "RIMS / Alpha 650B, 32H, 28mm, Non Tubeless" they are infact only 26mm so instead of a 23mm internal I only have a 21mm internal width. Ideal world I'll get a new set of wheels out of it but I some how doubt that will happen

If they don't give you the right response have it out over the phone, they don't seem to like confrontation over the phone and bend over for the taking! Love their bikes but sometimes they are just slack!

Just had an email back from Commencal, they have said that their was a mistake on the website and have offered me the wheels that come on the Race and Team bikes for 400 euro instead of 579, it works out at around £285. not sure if i'll accept that or ask for a bit more off

I'd push for more than that mate, it's their cock up why should you pay for their mistake? That's how I look at it anyway, it was the same with my bike, they wanted me to pay for their cock up

It should be for free! If you were led to believe that those were the wheels you were getting them they are the wheels you should get!
I have the yellow bugger, really, really nice bike. The only negative are the rear stays which are wide. I don't notice when i'm riding but I get off it and you can see pieces of fiveten smeared all over them! I'm also having some sort of issue where if it's left for a while back pedaling causes massive massive chain suck. I can't work out what it is.

Honest mate you will get them, they honestly hate confrontation over the phone, they are sh*te at arguments mainly because their English ain't that bloody great!

It comes down to this - the bike is not the bike that was advertised and therefore not the bike you paid for. Stick to your guns, remain calm and polite and you will get them for free.

I emailed them yesterday but to no avail, i'm yet to hear back from them, anyway, i've herd loads pf horror stories about the Alpha wheels self destructing so I decided to buy a set of custom made Hope wheels but not Enduro or Flows
