I did one with them a couple of weeks ago. Got a gift voucher for Xmas along with my brother in law. I rang them and discussed what would be best and they said they tailor the course in the day, see were everyone is up to and go from there. We booked an date that was intermediate and fortunately there was only the two of us. Started off on some basic stuff doing manuals and wheelies for drop offs and then progressed onto cornering and choosing lines.this was done coming down off the back of the pike where you climb around the hill. We then did the slabs picking lines through and this was useful to me as I would have picked something different to what I was shown. It started to blow a gale while up there though and we were getting pushed off sideways so dropped back down into the gardens. Overall it was a decent 4 hours and I definitely re learned some basics that got me moving on the bike better. I went back up the pike a couple of weeks later on my own early morning to practice the lines and drops. Got down the slabs ok and just near the bottom hesitated on a small rutted drop off and went orb big style. Haven't been on bike for last five weeks as I banged myself pretty badly and ribs are still badly bruised. The accident was definitely my own fault and at least the course taught me to know how I had dropped a bollock. I will plan to try another course soon but with someone else to get a different perspective. Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, sorry I didn't know you that you was injured, I've been away a bit ill (for a change0 the skills course and generally tied up for the last 4 or 5 weekends so hadn't been in touch for a ride, let me know when you are fixed and raring to go.
Jonny, with regards to skills days I think you generally should be prepared not so much to come out of it a miles better rider over night and not a complete game changer, but more of re affirmation of what the right techniques are, whereas you have second guessed, been self taught or picked up bits from mag, videos or fellow riders in the past it helps greatly to be told for sure this is the way to do it. After that go out and practice it.
Have a good day anyway, Rivvis a good place to ride and learn at.

That's great lads, think I'll give them a bell and have a chat to them then. Gaz, the event was amazing, really enjoyed it, surprised myself too. But those XC lads are unreal, the speed they go at for such a long time defies belief when you see it so close up.
