This to be on a Wednesday or a Thursday sometime in August . This ride is featured in the Summer edition / this months MBR magazine ..who in turn have lifted it straight from the pages of Phil McKane's book Scotland : The Wild Trails vol 2. Seems at first like a long way to go just for a day ride ..but then speaking to Ian Bell ( it was his idea) ..it's not really any different in terms of time to travelling from here to ride in the southern Lake District .( 2.5 hours) Ian's going , I'm going ..anyone else interested ? Date & travel arrangements to be confirmed late July when Ian gets back from the Alps and myself from the Highlands .

This ride is still going ahead ...and has now turned into an overnighter to incorporate the Glen Garr route which was recently featured in MBR..on wednesday 5th August and the Glen Tilt loop on the 6th ... If I do go...which is now looking doubtful it would only be for the Glen Garr ride which starts in Bankfoot on the wednesday ...time tbc. Only Ian Bell & Russell are confirmed as going so far.

Like you said on another thread it's good for the soul... Completely agree Hodgy but I've just taken on a few people so hoping once they are trained I will be able to take days off to ride. I was going to go out tonight but decided to take the family out for a meal instead which was also good for the soul. Not sure how long the kids will do that rather than go out with their mates. The last month has been tough but definitely a light at the end of the tunnel

My apologies but I won't make this after all Things are a little "hot " with viewings at work at the moment ..plus it would make things awkward with regard to Alex ( school hols ) ... I don't think I can really travel too far midweek until September when the school holidays are over ...
