I headed down to Kirroughtree yesterday for the first time in about 14 months........ I used to know the trails like the back of my hand.... not anymore..... the FC have totally destroyed the flow and character of the trails.... some places I didn't have a clue to what section I was on...
I do realize that the forests are a cash crop and that that there is a disease spreading through the said forests...... it is gonna take years for Kirrie to recover from the catastrophe..
They have added a Kicker and a tabletop to "the Last Tango".... which was blocked off........
still, I appreciated getting out on the trails with a few riding buddies that I hadn't seen in a long while.... and the banter was excellent.....as was the weather (and that is a rare occurrence in Scotland...LOL)

(hoping to hit the black tomorrow....will let ya know how that goes...)....
a great deal of repair work done to the trails after the forwarders had obliterated the original trails...

was back down at Kirrie today... I did the extended red (13.3 miles) , was much more fun, perhaps I am getting used to the old Meta 55 again after a long time off it...... I even managed to overtake a total of 7 youngsters in dribs and drabs.....OK.. one was mending a puncture!, but that still counts..... I did have a few scary bale offs at times... but no damage to any of my ribs...I even landed on my feet every time.... not bad for an auld fella....

Was up there last week on my Jollies and tbh noticed very little damage other than lack of trees which took some getting used to , most of the trails were the same as last year and the year before , ok they've dicked about with the 1st 100 yds of last tango and there are a couple of 20 yard repaired sections on it but I thought it was pretty much as it was and had a blast , oh apart from the 3 mile diversion/extension to avoid Heartbreak hill (21.5 mile black route) but at least it was rideable (I walk up heartbreak hill as I'm gettingon a bit ).
