due to the arrival of his first baby on or around the date of the `ardrock, matt cancelled his entry last week.he was given a 50% refund.i`ve found out via stw that the refund was available only till july 1st,any cancellations after that date received no refund at all.however, because the organisers still have a waiting list for late entries they`re asking for people who are not attending to surrender their race entry so that they can resell it....at full price seems like a bit of a money maker to me

It's true, there is such a rush to book your place on these events - and a lot of riders seem to book the place 'just in case I can make it' (not saying for one minute anyone on here has mind, Matt's obvs got a valid reason to cancel). However, it's a bit unfair to expect the organisers to lose out because some riders are booking without being 100% on doing it. IMHO of course, loike

They're not losing out if they're reselling spaces.

See what you mean cogger, if they are getting 50% plus being able to sell it again they are gaining. Obviously though there will come a point where it's too close to the start date and they won't be able to sell them on. I think it's reasonable for them to want to cover that.

I was happy with a 50% refund tbh. .but if I wasn't getting any refund I wouldn't be surrendering my place to be resold at full price.
