Nice pic Andy ...which day in what year was that taken ..don't think I have ever seen a day like that and I live here ! 10th November 2013. Was a lovely day to be out and about: just above freezing, no wind, sunshine and nice firm ground. www.strava.com/activities/94381794

Taken at the top of Snowdon (not by me but one of the lads on the ride) Me, absolutely on my last legs. And just one I took.

That last view is a mint one, it makes the climb to the top worthwhile.

2 pics which I haven't posted before ..taken in July '14 on a solo evening ride Both from the same spot on a bridleway section of the Pennine Way above my home village of Bellingham . The first is of the best bike I have ridden ..I had it for a week while mine was being repaired ( Santa Cruz 5010) The second ..and the reason for stopping was taken straight after the first by turning to my right, just a few seconds before the sun set Quite a magical moment ...

It's not often you get to see a helicopter crash into the side of a mountain either ..did they get out ok ? the pilot was showing off a bit he was just hovering for a while so everyone at the top could have a good look, then he he just took a bit of a dive over the other side of the ridge, and everyone just looked in amazement at each other...........like.....WOW!. this is going to sound a bit girlie but I actually felt a bit emotional when that happened, with it being right in front of us

I hope thats the one and only time a large chopper made your eyes water.
Changing the subject. Speaking of sunsets.....

It's a good photo but....
Pity it's not a close up. Then you could see the daft bugger was wearing road shoes and pedals.
No really folks, I'm not making this up!

The top of Nan Bield in the lakes . We started our 3rd pass ( the ride was called "the three passes") by the lake in the distance on the first picture . The 2nd picture is the way down , you can see the singletrack heading off into the distance

Quick question Ste ..the views apart ..did you really enjoy that ride ? The reason I'm asking is that having done a lot of the high level passes in the Lakes ..Nan Bield, Gatesgarth , Walna Scar .. I' m a firm believer that the best riding is lower down the slopes ...having said that we have never had too much luck with the weather on those rides ..which could have a lot to do with it !

Some cracking pictures here boys This is from one of the last rides on my old bike...was one of the best rides too! I left my house at 4:30am and was riding by 5:00am. This was a quick breakfast stop at 6:00am overlooking the Needles where I had just descended some sketchy chalk single track.

I'll say yes I did enjoy it but it was probably the hardest ride I've done yet. It was my first non trail centre ride and it was a baptism of fire. Lots of pushing and carrying. We were very lucky with the weather though, I can imagine it's grim when the weather is bad
