I mean it just seems to be dead and nothing going on . i come on every day to have a read but nothing new happening ..its gone really quiet now .. everyone fucked off back to mtbe or sumut ?
pretty disappointing to be honest and i cant be the only one thinking this either as this website showed so much promise .

To be honest ..I just think that it's down to the time of year / British summertime / people being on holiday and when folks quite naturally spend more time outdoors actually " doing " something rather than writing about it ..
Also for whatever reason ..three of the main contributors have stopped posting / left the site ....
It's fairly natural too ..that when something is new it gets used more...and maybe the site has just found it's "level"...
With only 200 members it's quite a small forum ..but that in itself is what has an attraction for me ..
I'm on here every day without fail and if you look at the number of hits the site gets ..it's still got a lot of folk looking ..but not writing!
Ironically ( and I'm not in any way criticising ) you are a case in point ..you say that you are on every day but nothing is happening ..but ( your last post aside) ..when was the last time you contributed anything?Edit ( I take that last remark back ..as you have quite a few posts this month ! ) Things will pick up again I'm sure ...when dark nights return and people are once again stuck indoors and unable to take advantage of this glorious summer weather!! ( joke )
Get out there and enjoy it ....

agree with everything said, I reckon the most activity is usually around an organised group ride. the forum will stay alive as long as there are rides organised.its a pity the regular organisers and riders live so far apart, but reporting on rides, showing photos and the pre and post ride banter helps to keep it topical and fresh.

Yeah, I'm not worried Killie - I like the fact there aren't that many of us - it's meant we've gone on rides together and become real life chums for one thing (many of us).
It'll get busier again I think, but I for one hope it never becomes as busy as Singletrack forum - that's so busy it's become impersonal, for me.

Summer happened.
It's exactly the same with any forum, any group of anything. The decent weather (for the most part) and people venture outside to enjoy it. Out all day with the family? Do you really want to be on your phone checking out a pokey little biking forum? No, I'd rather be in a beer garden with a decent pint.
As soon as winter comes back I reckon there'll be an increase in traffic.

Well I've got a good excuse but it's healing nicely.
I'm getting about 1.1/2 hours a day on the road but daren't chance an MTB mishap... yet..............
I'll be back seriously in about another month and for a bonus I'll round up Burton on Trent's answer to anorexia and bring him out!

Are you still coming dowwn to the midlands? you said you would this summer (I think) I want to see these bikes you've spent a fortune on well i was coming down last week as it was my mothers birthday but with my other half now getting a new and better paid job and doing 3 x 12 hour shifts (sometimes more) and not knowing what those shifts are to one week to the next it just messed my plans up and now im a stay at home daddy lol. i get to ride on her days off but then i feel really bad cus she never gets a day off even on her days off as he then looks after the kids and 1 being nearly 9 months old and a 5 year old and being school holidays here in Scotland now too . ive not even rode the chase yet either and i used to live in the west mids too. I had a bad off other week too at dalbeattie and scared the crap out of me when hit my head on a flat rock and proper fucked my knee up ..with pads on too .went to mabie forest monday just gone and my confidence has been smashed after the over the bars at dalbeattie and felt i just didnt want to go any further after 2 3rds of the red ..it also costs around £70 in fuel there and back to me mams . I will come down though but i really would like to do the chase on my own 1st so then i wouldn't be embarrassed on the offs lol and me being to fucked on the ups .i will come down pez as i have to as my family are in kidderminster and they like to see little ones now and again .but when i come down i will come down there to my moms on my own as again if i bring the missis and kidsto my moms im then taking the car to the trail and there stuck at my moms house doing naff all and even if i drop them off somewhere for the day my little man then plays up and gets bored after 2 hours... it is getting to the point i dont want to leave them even on my missis days off ..but my missis tells me to get the fuck out the house and ride when she thinks im itching to get out . |
