Evening all.
New member here. I've been a recreational rider for 8 or 9 years and have decided to get more serious. I had my third knee operation in April and cycling represents a big part of my recovery and return to fitness.
To to that end I've just spunked a load of money on a Charge Cooker 2 to replace my 8 year old GT Aggressor.
it would be good to hear from any local riders (Brizzle, Somerset etc) who can show me the ropes.

Welcome Mr Grumper. Hope your knee gets better quickly. I'm not at all local but I have family in Devon, Sidmouth-Exeter-Tiverton areas, who I like to visit when I get the time, and fuel money from Northumberland! Next time I was planning to bring the bike and just go exploring by myself around Quantocks, Dartmoor or Exmoor f'r instance, but would surely get better value with local knowledge... so now there are two including mr Marsbarman..

The most adventurous my cycling gets at the minute is taking the bike through Weston Woods, which is pretty good fun but can be a pain when it's wet. As for where how I ended up here, I did some research on Google and liked the look of this one. I stalked the forum for a day or two and was looking for a combination of friendly place and one which has frequent activity.

Usually bypass all that for FoD and south Wales. If you even head more Taunton way give me a shout. I'll show you some decent descents on the quantocks. Haldon Forest is also worth the trip if you hunt down some of the unmarked stuff!

Welcome aboard. Based on my experience, riding with the chaps you meet on here will increase your enthusiasm. And empty your wallet!
As Zulu says, a photo of your bike is a must, although it must not be leaning against a gate.

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's much appreciated.
I'll put actual pics of the bike on when it arrives next week. In the meantime you'll have to make do with a library shot from Charge as my avatar. ;-)
