This was my last ride of the week ..another short one ( 8km setting off from our cottage yesterday morning ( 24.7.15 ) at 6.45am ..but what it lacked in length it made up for in quality ..and having walked the track on a number of occasions to get to the beaches with the family I'd had ample time to scope it out and knew there was a lot of opportunities for a bit of fun to the side of the trail too ...on the numerous very grippy sandstone slabs . Here's the journey from the start of the track .. A taste of things to come ...5metres in .. The Isle of Skye in the early morning mist Grippy red sandstone slabs ..so much fun to ride ..Applecross Bay in the distance Techy bits ! Across the water ...Isle of Raasay foreground ( right) ..Skye background left The farm building at Aird Dhubh Hardly a ripple Sandstone slabby grippyness ..the temptation was to lean the bike far over to the right to see how far you could get before falling off ! ( lol) . So much fun ..I spent a good 20 mins just repeatedly riding this ... Berms too !

And bits I didn't want to risk for fear of injury .... A junction in the track ...right first I think I did feel a tad guilty going along here do early as there was a dog onboard that yacht which started barking loudly ..having heard me ! The beach at Ardbain The house is still in use ..but the only way to get to it is on foot or by sea A great spot for breakfast no1..a banana & a Medley bar.. Back to the finger post where I met Lily ..and turned to go to Coille Ghillie The building on the left is still used ( probably as a holiday let ) with again access being on foot / bike or by the sea..fantastic views of a The Isle of Skye ... The beach in close proximity An Ruahd Eilean . That's my biking done...thanks again to my family for allowing me to bring it ..not that they knew too much about it ..for the most part they were still in the land of nod when I got back . I will post a selection of random photos from a non biking point of view when I get back home..showing off the beauty of this part of the world . The week has just flown by ..we could have easily stayed for the whole of the school holidays ..and sitting here with just a couple of hours to go before setting off for home I have already got the holiday blues ... But ...we will be back...

I have committed an offence then.....hodgy are those two white cottages by the beachin ardbain seperated by a derelict one in the middle (it was a few years ago anyway) because I think you have come across where I stayed. Looks like the trail I walked, the beach we landed our beer on and the bushes we hid the beer in. At the signpost is it a couple of miles to the end of the road snd a wee harbour bit?. I need to check out google maps when I get home but I could swear that is the cottage, looks posher now though.
