I second that - although I worked in West Brom for 10 years so I have a slightly better understanding. Spare a thought for my wife though - she's originally from Jersey so she struggles massively with the local lingo lol

Being Brummies is a bit of a sod - we get tarred as 'Yammers' by the great unwashed of the rest of our island but the two accents are miles apart. We're posher, we am. Yammers feel the same, they call us Brummies 'The wernits'

TBF There really are plenty of cracking, unspoiled traditional pubs in the Black Country. They seem to get a lot more support from their locals which keeps the prices sensible.
