Myself and Graham have been researching a route close to Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales which we were planning on checking out in the not too distant future ..before hopefully making it a forum ride for all who might be interested ...
It starts west of Hawes at Cotter Riggs on a byway that goes all the way to Thrang End ..which in terms of what we have so far gathered is good and hasn't been chewed up by trail bike riders ..( known as the High Way )
The bit that there does not seem to be any info on is the return leg ..it's bridleway ..and after a short road section back down the B6259 you turn off at Elmgill to follow the b/w back down the valley to where it crosses the railway line and road at Aisgill Moor Cotts .
From here it climbs up the other side of the valley over White Birks Common ..which potentially looks "wet " around Turner Hill before hitting a t junction of tracks to turn left on what looks to be a good drop back down to the B6259 close to the Moorcock pub .
There is the opportunity to extend this ride ..but for now would be grateful to hear from anyone who might have ridden / walked the section from Elmgill ..( but I'm not holding my breath ! )
