Hi all,
48 years old and trying to get my fitness back up to par through biking. Always been a keen cyclist and always had a bike since I was 3 years old. Been having some health issues over the last two years and as such had to stop the fitness activities, on the mend now so trying to shed the pounds added through inactivity.
The bike, well at the moment I have a Carerra Vortice, it's done a fair few miles but it all still works as it should. If I survive the initial shock of getting back on the bike, I may look to spend a few quid and get a nice bike.
Hopefully I can learn a lot from the more experienced, although I'm sure the basics are still the same they were a few years back.
Thanks
Alan

Welcome dude! Let's us know where you're from, there's usually a few forum rides happening every now and then you might be able to join in on.
Get yourself sorted on your bike until you know you need a new one then get something nice and shine. Nothing beats that new bike feeling!

Thanks for the welcomes, I'm located in Kent, in a small village called Marden and am planning a trip out to Begdebury tomorrow.... been told they have some great cycle routes. Not too sure I will last the full 14 KM but I'll give it my best.
Been drooling over those Boardman FS650 bikes, wow they are some bit of kit..... probably wasted on me but we all have to have dreams.

Welcome Alan, you'll find plenty of help and encouragement on this forum, hope it helps you get it all together. I've only been riding just over 2 years and got the bug via a pretty knackered old rigid Giant that I pulled out from a nest of cobwebs in my pals garage. Did me for 6 months. Two years later I have 2 more bikes and now need a new shed or bigger kitchen. Oh, I'm another northerner, sorry, don't know Kent riding at all.

Oops, forgot to mention....
I live in Kent but I'm actually a northerner too.... originally from Burtonwood Cheshire but lived in St Helens for 18 years.
Joined the ARMY, travelled the world and settled in Kent.... it's sunny and has some great lanes/woods to cycle and walk around.
Thanks all for the welcomes, seems like a nice place here.
