That would be great Glynn Im keen to take a look around the peaks and the north side is handier for me, at the moment I can make any of those days. Would you be looking at 10.10/30 start. Can miss the worst of the manchester/m6 southbound traffic heading down that way around the m66/m60.

Thursday or Friday are both good, Thursday is slightly better as I will recover in time (hopefully ) for a ride Saturday. If we can both do either and nobody is joining us should we take a look at the weather on Monday and go with the better day.

Hi mate. Just an heads up that we had a death im the family yesterday, totally sudden and a complete shock.
I'm not sure when the funeral will be but it may effect which day off I take from work next week and availability for the ride. I hope I can still make it but will be uncertain until I know the day. I don't think the nearest fily can begin to get the head around arranging a funeral just yet.

I'll keep you posted, I've been fortunate that I've not had too many occurrences of this situation and don't really have a clue how long it takes to sort out, so it could be into the following week so I'd then be fine for next week. I have a either a Thursday or Friday off for the foreseeable anyway so I'll have any further opportunities.

Yep I'm all sorted, hoping my legs feel a little better by tomorrow morning but should be okay, its not hilly around there after all.
Forecast is looking positively glorious for tomorrow so may have to get the sun cream back out of storage.

Sorry Neil I should know to leave the comedy genius to your good self.
I keep meaning to get around to edit the clip from the Hebden ride, the part with a fine example of tremendous comic talent. Cue the scene....... The silhouette of a solitary rider upon the famous Gorple rocks, the gang of us await their arrival as they thread down a nice piece of dusty single track, Hodgy beckons him to slow down as approaches, we all fall quiet as surely he has something important to ask or tell him, the guy stops and Hodgy hits him with "you cant go down there its shut"! cue tumble weed.... end scene.
PS. How did you get on with your knees at the docs???

Nah ..you got it all wrong ..I said that there had been a rock fall and the trail was closed ...which quite obviously was 500 % funnier ..must have been a dialect thing ..but he did look disgusted ! Knees ...or knee (right only ) told to do nowt at all for two weeks until the swelling goes down and is pain free ..and to consider giving up badminton altogether which I am loathe to do tbh ..may drop it down to one 2 hour session a week instead of two ..and my badders shoes are not sport specific and may not be giving the right kind of support ..ice packs , parrots & ibuprofen ..back in 4 weeks and take it from there .. Cheers for asking ...
