I love riding at night and plan to ride at least once a week though the winter. I've just bought on of these Nightfighter for my helmet and it's bigger brother for my bars, although they are from China they are unbeatable for the money.I don't use prebuilt battery packs as I prefer to buy individual batteries and use a plastic waterproof battery case. Loads of info on MBTR on lights and batteries If you've never done any night riding your missing out.Give it a go!!

Ive got a pair of the 1200lm.excellent bright lights, good battery life too.the only prob ive had is the plastic coating on the wiring cracking where it enters the light and battery.ive had to put extra electrical tape on to try to beef em up a bit.

No change from last year ..Exposure Maxx D ..wire less rechargeable ..780 lumens...on my bar Sanguan ...quality ..not cheapo Chinese lights gel cooled battery pack head mounted 2200 lumens ..fantastic lights 2980 lumens in total..night is day This years model is slightly different ..but I can't recommend these lights enough .. This is my mates shop ( Ian Bell ) ..mention me and he will charge you double.... www.thebikeplace.co.uk/online-shop/product/115-sanguan-sg-k20-rechargeable-led-lightGiven the choice between bar or helmet mounted ..always go for a light ( weight) helmet mounted option ..this has the advantage of directing the light where you are looking and not where the bars are pointing ..which makes a difference

www.ayup-lights.com/lighting-kits?product_id=3Anyone tried these, I have used the chinese jobs and they are good but looking at upgrading when Xmas comes along. I want something lightweight for the helmet really. Not sure how good 700 lumens is as my chinese were sold to me at 9 Million lumens lol! £185 for both lights btw

Not tried them ..but have read good reviews in the past ..I don't think that they will be any better than the Sanguan lights that I have recommended ! I have had a set of " quality " lights for about 5 years now with the Exxposure light...and it doesn't come close ..and never did ..in terms of output or indeed quality ( Chinese yes / knock-off NO ) to the Sanguan product ..which are lightweight enough not to know they are there when helmet mounted ..but hey it's your money ...

What's the weight of the Sanguan? And does it come in pretty colours

Err ..it's a slightly different model to mine ..don't think they come in pretty colours ( mines black ) Just weighed them on digital scales at 127g ..4.7 oz Did take a pic but photo bucket is playing silly buggers .. Just checked the weight of the Ayup at 190 g but that's including the battery pack ..which is very lightweight ..however on the Sanguan you can add an additional 360 g for the battery pack ..however there is enough cable to carry this comfortably in your back pack and therefore not notice the weight at all ...

cheers Hodgy, the real appeal is the weight for the helmet one. Must admit the exposure one for the helmet looks good but then it should do at £200. I like the idea of no wires for the handlebar one too

I got some cheapy Cree Firestorm jobbies from eBay about 18 months ago and can't fault them. Very bright, great battery life and the house is still standing. Got two for about £40 I think it was.

Alshack, that's what I am using currently and they are great but think I may upgrade when they stop working. That said my son needs a new laptop so it may be chinese jobies for another year!

Pesky kids eh! I'm after a YT Capra, but apparently we need windows that don't leak as a priority over boys toys
