With reasonable weather through the back end of this week, continuing over the. weekend and into next it seems like a perfect opportunity to do this ride before conditions go pear shaped.
anybody fancy it, I can do any day apart from Monday, slight preference for wed or Thursday?

Nice one Glynn let me know which day is best. Wednesday is slightly better for me.
I can wait until Sunday to decide but if anybody else wants to come and needs a firm date then I'm happy to go with the flow.
Glynn I wasn't looking for a free guide, honest, however as you have far superior knowledge of these parts are you happy to conjure up a route that does the Cutgate and maybe some good stuff around lady bower, 20/25 miles or so.
if I ended up going solo I had the basic route on my Garmin and mag pull outs from langsett over Cutgate and back and ya have just had a look what I could find at the end when I got their but it would have all been blind.
anybody else up for this classic.

Hey chaps, I might be up for this.
I'll have to be careful as my ankle won't stand a bang but I'm back to decent fitness on the lycra wearing pooftah's bike.
Thu would be better but I can do Wed.

Be good to meet up again andy, but is the ankle up to it? You know how rocky and droppy cutgate is in parts

the route iv got in mind starts from near fairholmes visitors centre, climbs up whinstone lee tor then up along derwent edge (cheeky). back down to derwent res then cutgate proper. i make it around 24 miles. theres some hike-a-biking,some tough steady climbs and excellent descents.its probs about 5 hours......ish if all goes well

I'm still struggling with an head cold, just been out for a steady ride and felt crap towards the end, felt like spewing at times as the cold is having bad effects combined with my flem situation. So may struggle but still up for it as long as you don't mind waiting for me on the. Limbs. 24 miles around there sounds like you are going to beast us but I'm up for it anyway.
I'll have another run out on Sunday to make sure I'm on the mend.
Still okay for either day (sitting on the fence) but always happy to go with the sunniest option.

Andy, could you do tuesday? No. I'm busy Sun-Tue. Sorry guys.
Go Tue anyway if that suits you as what you are planning might be a bit much/risky for me yet.

Still feeling a bit under the weather myself, did a moderate ride this morning and feeling washed out now, a three hour hunt for a missing hamster turning the house upside down to try and find him hasn't helped.
Ste if Glynn can't make it we can still go for it or I can show you a ride out of Clapham.

hi guys, unfortunately I'm going to have to duck out from my own ride. I think I've been fighting the inevitable and may have over done it this morning my colds hit back with a vengeance and I feel like shit.
