There is a fantastic ride out of Grizedale this weekend...
It's a forum ride with lots of folk from the North East meeting up with lads from Yorks & Lancs ..you should join it if you can ...
Unfortunately I can't ..due to " injury "

Would have loved to but I'm working in Aberdeen this weekend, also missing a group ride at Hamsterley forest. I guess I need to pay for the new bike somehow hey.

That looks fantastic. I've done Snowdon (just and it nearly finished me off) but before I hang up my Tevas, I want to do this.
Next year, I am therefore issuing intent and notice of such intent, that I will be training my flabby and fecked, 53 year old abused wreck of a body, in order to complete said ride.
I'm envisaging a similar 'do' to the Snowdon job.
Weekend away - this time though the 'hard' ride (Helvellyn) first and a gentler , fun, trail centre day to wind down on the Sunday. I feel we got it wrong way round for Snowdon.
Pray we get the same weather you had Lee - that one shot of two of you looking down the valley in the sun is stunning.
I'll start doing research towards it, but I don't even know if there is a similar 'ban' on parts of the year like Snowdon? If not I'm envisaging a high summer jobbie (feck carrying shit loads of jackets etc).
I'll start a thread in Forum rides at some point - if someone knows more and would like to start one instead - feel free.

While not knowing which " Helvellyn " ride Lee has done ..I have done the " full " range once before ( there are a few different options ) ..no ban on Helvellyn ..
There are two trail centre options ..Grizedale & Whinlatter
Should be a good but knackering weekend ..!

Can't be much harder than the Snowdon weekend Neil, which was compounded by freezing weather, a hard and soaking Saturday ride (my gear was still wet on the Sunday morning), no sleep in a freezing barn on Sat night then the slog up Snowdon next day. This time we'll get it right.
