Ha ! I was wondering when someone was going to crack .. I would guess out of all of us you would be the person most likely to have ridden this Ant ... It's in the part of the forest named Cairnglastenhope ..(not the ruin ) ..it leaves the forest road near what on the map is a trig point 312 m and makes it way following a burn towards Clintburn ruin ... Familiar ?

Yes familiar. I did an exploration in that area of forest, including out from Irish Bridge a year or so ago. I rode up that bw until it got down to the burn and the wet bit and it was looking good, but I was running out of time so made a note to come back and work it into a route. Not done that yet though. The other one that runs SW from the bridge towards Greenlee needs exploring, it is overgrown with grass and rushes (but not trees) at the top end and dosen't have the evidence of recent use so I didn't go far, but it may open up further on. It must have been an important route long ago, but may have completely disappeared. Might be a good one for a frosty winter weekday recon I didn't recognise it from your photos tho, looks better than I'd remembered.

Great pics Even if I had ridden it on one of my get out and explore moments don't think I would remember Looks a bit like parts of Sidwood but obviously not and haven't a clue where all these named places you all refer to are - must get an OS map So when are we doing it?

Graham ... The reason you didn't recognise it is probably because it had been " opened up " for a recent motorbike event ..and while there is evidence of their tyre marks on the ground ..for once I'm pleased that they have used this trail . However it does beg the question of legality ...the F.C .must have given permission for them to use this ..which is a bit naughty as it is a PUBLIC bridleway ... Colin ..still exploring the area ..there is the basis of a good ride with ( as Graham has pointed out ) some as yet unexplored trails ..particularly around the Stonehaugh area ..any time you are free though ..
