Five hours free before school pick up, calm breeze, no rain due so headed for Rivington with the scout. After a bit of an explore on what turned out to be a footpath, honestly I didn't know, I headed over towards great hill, just a couple of pedal strokes from the summit at around this point; When this happened. It was a bit muddy so when I experienced what felt like a bit of foot slippage I didn't think too much until I got my foot back where it should be and it felt mightily strange under foot. I was just riding on the axle, the pedal itself and slid off when I thought my foot had lost grip, I found it a bit down the trail. Basically the axle was totally stripped so I couldn't refit it, I tried to carry on but it was in vain, every pedal around pushed it a little closer to coming off. So I had to give up and ride back to the car, fortunately it was down hill all the way. Day off practically wasted. Don't know if I'm more fed up at that or with a set of mag pedals being most likely written off now. I only fitted them in may so I will get onto superstar for a refurb or at least replacement axles.

Basically just 4 miles after the grizedale ride, just glad they didn't fail at the bottom of that long long climb up from Coniston side.
Yes colds nearly gone now Glynn, it's taken some shifting. It may not have helped that every time I felt a bit better I went for a ride, then it knocked me back again.
Bloods are in the lab at the moment as well so hopefully I might get to the bottom of my stomach issue, acid problem that it is not a size issue!

Good luck with the stomach problem mate - and unlucky with the pedals. I can't WAIT for Sarky to see this - he'll be all over it like a cheap suit

The pin broke on hubbys peddle right by the crank arm, on a ride over kinver with his mates, one unlucky fella had to ride it home and get the van to rescue him:-(. Crank brothers were great about it though and replaced the offending part free of charge.

Despite the pedals being battered to death they emailed today to say that as they are under warranty rather than fit a new axle they will replace them with new.
They did try it on a bit by offering the new nano X with titanium axles and a credit but I passed on this as my delta mag Evoa were 150gm lighter.
Good service though I didn't expect them to honour a warranty on a very much worn pedal.
