I have been trying to muster 8 of our local group to commit to a mountain bike week w/c 28.5.15
Not just any old mountain bike trip ..but a Scottish Highland trip staying on The Ben Damph Estate, Torridon .
Only myself Dave & Jean had confirmed ...with Colin more than interested but having to see what family plans might be in place .
I have had a few discussions with Claire ( who it transpires owns the 14,000 acre estate ) and she kindly agreed to hold this week provisionally for me until Monday ...when a 50% deposit would be required .
It's on a self catering basis and will sleep up to eight people on either a double or twin room basis ..and in my opinion is five star in terms of the location and quality of the property ..with eight people sharing the cost worked out at a ridiculously cheap price of £112.50 per person for seven nights ..obviously food would be on top ..wether that be bar meals or eating in ..it's £900.00 for the week ..
It's also a half term school week ..so won't hang around for long ...
There are 3 rides in the Torridon area alone , the Applecross to Kenmore route ...and we are only 1.5 hours from Skye ..for the Slighacan route ..and loads of small beach rides if you didn't want to be full on every day .
Thrail House ...it's gonna really break my heart letting this go...
