iv not got the 456, mines an in-bred 26er, but i like it, simple frame, easy to clean in the nooks and crannies with it being skinny.a riding buddy of mine who likes all the techy stuff loves his 456, alto his i think is a 27.5

I have the Inbred, good bikes but things have changed with maxles and tapered headsets. Going back to such is a bit precarious.

yeah i can see your point adam, things move on, but im not always convinced by minimal change. if a bike does what you want it to do, without the latest spec. then all is good.what im am wary of tho is componant availalability.

Ive got a Scandal so same frame just ally. No issues at all really good flickable fun. Fork wise im pretty sure its a 44mm headset so id you get a 44mm 1.5in cup you can run tapered. Ring them to double check though.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it either, if it's just a winter hack. Mine is the SS rigid, if it falls to pieces, it's not a problem. It'll only be doing blues anyway, just for winter miles.
