Looking doubtful for tomorrow, currently feel like I've been hit by a bus and it didn't go down to well when I tested the water with the mrs, it's fine for me to nip out in the morning whilst they do gymnastics swimming club activities but expect me home when they get back at 1pm so looks like a local ride if any.

Not to worry John ..that's more than understandable ..I think you have larger gonads than me for even mentioning this ride !
We will just have to organise it again when all the repair work has been completed at the turn of the year and everything is shiny & new ..and fully opened .

Just seen Russell's X5 on the car park ..but haven't clocked him yet ...saying that I wouldn't expect to from where I'm currently sitting ..trap 10 ..or thereabouts !

Gotta say as wet as that was ..that was probably the most fun I've had with my clothes on this year ...
It started out raining ..got better in the middle section when it actually stopped ..but was completely tipping it down by the end again !
I can now re-define wet ..MT500 jacket fully proofed and Endura waterproof trousers and by the end every nook cranny & crevice of my waterproof skin beneath was totally soaking ..
In between times though it was a complete riot ..definitely got " gazzed " again ..I really don't know how he keeps a straight face !
Russell & him were getting some shit scary speed up on the descents given the conditions and were egging each other on ..
Comedy moment of the day was when we were near to the top of the North trail and taking a moment ..when down the walking trail came a quite elderley couple who chewed the fat for a minute or so ..naturally the topic of conversation turned to the weather and Paul who had decided against wearing his waterproof trousers in favour some 3/4 length baggies ...which at this point were nearly hanging around his ankles due to water retention was heard to utter " well it doesn't matter about the rain if you've got the right gear on " ...no shit bonny lad ! Haha ...
Fantastic day ..a second lap would have been in order if it wasn't for some coffee & cake calling out from the cafe !
For those who didn't ..you missed a cracker !
Hats off to Gaz for travelling all that way when it would have seemed more sensible to turn back and to Russell & Jaco ..great craic all of them ..

I've just stopped for a break only got about 60 miles to go but needed a pee break got to say was a great day with loads of banters , and some brill descents Russ don't hang about the mountain goat Considering the weather the trail was stupidity fast or that mite of be me and Russ riding like nutters and trying to chase every one down the hill lol every jump bump drop off we did with stupid amounts of laughter was good to catch up with you guys again .. Rite better hit the road again |

A few pics from the day Was up at 4am on the road just before 5amnipped in to tesco for some fuel n goodies Any way first pic Lancaster service for a coffee break  Just a little wet thinking wtf am I doing here in this weather ...  Next one just parked up and saw all these cars was great they were off on a hill climb time trail event awesome  Think that's the north side climb ? Just looking out over a cracking view  It didn't rain all day lol  Just having a min ..
