Not to be confused with the ride Gaz is organising in December .. Having discussed this venue after our ride yesterday there is now enough behind the scenes interest in the North East to give this it's own thread ... So ..already confirmed ...myself , Dave & Jean , Colin , Russell ..I'm sure Jaco said he would go but I need to check that ..can't remember if Graham said he would go either ..but then he did have other things on his mind ... We also have Karl joining us for the first time ..we have never met ..but he lives only 100yds away as the crow flies ...! I will co-ordinate travel arrangements with everyone later in the week .. So Gaz & Kirky ..we're on ! .. What is a comfortable time for you to get there ..10.00 ..10.30 ? Anyone else ?

I did the blue for the first time, last time I was there, it's definitely worth a blast round. There's a good section in the middle that you can session if you've time

As Ste says ...the blue is well worth doing ... As far as two loops go ..let's see how we are doing on the day ...distance shouldn't be a problem ..more daylight hours ... Apparently as far as the car park is concerned there is a new system in place which records number plates ..some of our vehicles are exempt due to their trailbuilding owners ... In terms of start time and the logistics behind folks meeting up at this end / car sharing etc ..10.00 am will probably be the soonest we can get there .

Sent an email to Alex Mac this morning who in turn forwarded it to Paul Brown at Keswick ... This is his reply ..the whole thing could be closed for the December ride ..better keep checking the web site
Hi Neil,
These are to be ongoing and will be closed for approximately 6 weeks to allow the repair to settle and dry out.
The bottom half of the Altura trail south loop is currently open for approx 3 weeks and then will be closed as the work continues downhill. From that point the whole of the Altura south will be closed.
Apolgises for the disruption.
The Altura North and Quercus trail open as normal.
Regards
Paul

Hello Alex There are a few of us planning a trip to Whinlatter on Saturday 7.11.15 Dave Tasker noticed on the web site that there are maintenance works due to start today on the Upper South section ..any idea of timescale ..as in a quick fix or are these still likely to be ongoing and still closed to riders next weekend ? Cheers Neil

Okay no probs.
Let me know when you northern monkeys fancy a go around rivington, Colin asked me when we were up at Grizedale, it's kind of handy for the chase brigade and a few of the southern northerners so could get a good turn out potentially. Also good in most conditions.
