Hey guys, I've been pretty quiet on here lately, mainly due to work/family/new house /aweful summer weather up here.
However!!!! I have now swapped out my trusty Rocky Mountain Slayer for something a bit well... It's been my dream bike since I seen one in the flesh 3 years ago.
2012 Nukeproof Mega in black. It's built up using my existing bike so was a quick swap around. Managed a first ride out yesterday and wow it's a machine! Love it!
Sorry haven't managed pics for you guys yet! Will make sure I get some done this week. Time for me to get out and enjoy the trails again!!

Awesome! I'm glad to join the Nuke club haha!
Well I didn't manage much climbing on it, teething problem swapping over from the old frame, when suss was Compressing and I was in my 40t the chain was stretching the mech round so much it hit the cassette. What I did manage it felt better and easier than the slayer so I'm well happy! Can't wait to get back out on it!
Running: RS Lyrics 160mm Fox CTD Kashima trail adjust Shimano Zee shifter + mech Shimano XT cassette + 40t expander Shimano XT brakes + rotors (203f 180r) Raceface cranks + Hope 30t nw Raceface Altus bars 780mm Raceface 50mm stem RS Reverb Mavic 521 rims + Hope Pro Evo hubs Nukeproof Electron pedals

Your right, it's not right... It's a 1.5 to 1'1/8th converter and the bike shop guy put it together. It's fine for just now until I get time to strip it and do it my self. Not sure the converter that came with is the right one for the headset.

Yeap, he's good at the 'normal' stuff but when it comes down to more unusual things/requests like this it sometimes doesn't work out haha. I'm not too fussed though as its up and running and it's not going to damage anything at the moment. Probably get a nice new headset after the winter

The bike looks very clean mate are the forks brand new the stanchions look mint, overall great condition. That fork/bottom cup fit would scare the be Jesus out of me though, I don't think the bottom bearings going to last long running it like that.

Thanks again guys. Forks are 2013's got them second hand on my last bike, yea they are mint! I went and got a huge scratch down the lowers though... gutted! As for the headset issue, hard to explain but here is a pic to help show wants gone on/wrong. As far as I can tell I do have the correct cup for it but maybe the wrong adapter, yellow is the bearings and the red is the shape and fit of the adapter. My drawing is a bit off as the top part of the T shape is flush with the bottom of the cup. The Gap you can see on the bike is the thinner part of the T which is sitting at the top of the crown on the forks. Either the adapter is fitted upside down and the thin bit of the T should be at the top leaving the wider bit sitting inside the cup... Either way going to take it for a ride down to see a different mechanic and see what he thinks The bearing are completely sealed by the wide part of the adapter though.

the cup and the adapter are the same thing. the bearing fits in the cup and the cup fits in the headtube

Bike looks great Mata - but I'd seriously take it back to the mechanic who did that and either get your money back or ask him to correct it.
