Kirky, back at work next Wednesday, but I'm going nowhere for a bit tbh mate, threw my bike carrier away in a fit of temper I've pretty much decided I'm spending the winter locally mate, I'm just gonna be hitting the SS in an effort to shape up. I'll be back out and about in the Spring, I appreciate the offer though and will deffo take you up on it in the New Year when I'm happier with my fitness.

Okay I'll pencil the 19th and try and avoid working on that day my boss (well for the next 6 weeks) has lined me up a few appointments without consulting me recently so I'll have to make sure he leaves the 19th alone. I tend to know the plan for the week on the Friday before or latest on the Monday.

Yeh I think we'll have to climb up widdop as the back of gorple options going to be too muddy. Glynn likes a climb any way, Gaz is riding rivington not hebden bridge isn't that right? Hebden next Friday and rivington the following Thursday.

Fridays weather has changed from the deluge forecast earlier this week to clear (date I say sunny) through the day with the only rain forecast from 6 yay!!
Some strongish winds though but let's hope it's behind us going up the climbs. Don't want to sound like Gaz but having not ridden much since grizedale when I was blowing out of my arse I really don't know where my fitness is at and the Calderdale loop can be testing at the best of times. It's all good though and I need some good stiff rides under the belt before I meat up with beans and co next week.

John ...careful mate ..you are going to start to get the same sort of rep. as that pathological liar Marmite aka Burton Uk ..Burton ...Gaz .. Did it never occur to anyone why he changes his forum name/ identity so regularly ? I have it on good authority that it's because of the sheer volume of hate mail he receives from folks he rides with who then find out he's talking through his arse regarding how un-fit he is ..
He has even changed the way he looks in the hope that people don't recognise him ...

Exactly I don't want to understate constantly how fit I feel, however the reality is once the weather turns I don't tend to have many days where I feel tip top, kind of a perpetual cold due to this reflux problem that I just can't get to the bottom of. After a few weeks of the bike it feels like a 30 mile hilly ride is beyond me. The drop of temperature for mid to high thirties to 10/12 degrees isn't helping as I was hit by sore throat muzzy head a couple of days after I got back, not a proper cold more of an annoyance.
Anyway onwards and upward and all that, hopefully I will feel better when I get back into it. Planned rides for tomorrow (short flat one), Friday long hills one, Saturday recovery ride, Tuesday medium ride, Thursday rivi with the guys then Saturday hopefully something testing if all goes well. Should hopefully have some miles under the belt by the borrowdale bash, I tend to find it a bit easier on the larger group rides as the rests are more regular and longer than when I ride solo or with a smaller group.

Glad to be of service ...haha ( with regard to the regular rests ! ) I feel knackered just reading about how much riding you are going to be doing !

im quite disappointed about the change in forecast, i still havnt tried out my new winter jacket i was looking forward to getting absolutely p*** wet thro but if its turning colder and windy it should still be a goer! looks like we.ll both be riding at the back john cos i havnt been riding anywhere near enough these last few weeks, months even, too much of work and life things.
