Cheeky shit - I'd love to be as 'unfit' as you, yer lying get! Was a good ride but once again showed me how far backwards my fitness has gone, I'm ok on the 'downs' but by the cringe I'm shit at climbing right now. Need to drop a stone, minimum over winter or the Helvellyn thing is just a non starter. Thanks to Polish Rob (a workmate) who entertained us all on Stegasauros by doing a back flip with double twist, about 30 seconds after boasting how 'I haven't had an off in ages' Stile cop was great but time more than anything stopped us doing a second run (plus that push up is a biaaatch)

I honestly, on every climb, had lost sight of him by 30 seconds in. He's so full of it, he squeaks when he walks.

Unless you are like Andy Watson who, at 60 odd is freakishly fit, once you hit your 50's the years of ale and takeaways come back to bite you on the arse. It can be combated, but it gets harder to do as you age. I think back to my 30's and like you say, you think you'll always be a 32 waist and be able to run up anything all day. I'm getting very, very frustrated with the state of my fitness, but at least I'm still around to moan about it, I s'pose.

It doesn't get easier ..but take a look around you at blokes who have given up the ghost completely...you probably look 20 years younger than them ..and are doing more to extend your time before the last farewell ..just keep going mate and bugger how long it takes !
