cant remember where iv seen it but iv seen a few mentions of bikes not fitting on workstands due to rear shock being exactly where the clamp would be. well same happened to me since having the mega. dont know if this will give anyone any ideas but i made meself a slight modification which i now clamp to the stand. bike itself isnt actually clamped now but it works fine. also while tinkering with the bike upside down i was pretty amazed at how much water emptied out through the headtube. so decided to drill two 3mm holes in the bottom bracket to drain out any more water.

That's a great idea Glynn but being a DIY retard what have you used to make it please as my Scott won't fit my stand either?

that`s a cracking idea glynn cos 99% of the time when I use my stand I only want to hang it rather than clamp it.

its unistrutt and tie-rod, just some scrap knocking about at w**k. it depends what you can get your hands on. the tie-rod is covered with garden hose maybe B&Q will have something you could use

That's a cracking idea. Next time I'm on site I'll try and scrounge some uni-strut, end caps and a couple of Zeb's. Think I have some 10mm threaded bar at home.

on my old job I`d often deliver to engineering workshops and steel fabricators and it was an ideal time to scrounge odds and ends for things like this.i now deliver mostly to nursing homes, schools and hospitals so the chances of picking any free bits up are pretty slim...unless I can knock something up out of a couple of zimmer frames

Not such a daft idea ...rubber handles and a 45 degree bend already in place ....
