So I have not only managed to blow my shock, not a clue how that happened, but as I was taking it off to send it off for repair I discovered this: Fuck the fact it's a huge image. I'm absolutely gutted by this, massive strain on only one side of the bike and you can see it's worn parts away. Basically I've fucked the bike. I have no idea how long it's been like that now! I'm tempted to pack this hobby in, every single fucking month I have to replace something on this fucking bike.

Can you not contact who you got the bike off see if you can claim mate or have your bearings sized up ?

Shop I bought the bike through has ceased trading. Supplier no longer carries Knolly after the issues I had getting the bike into the country, so I don't really have any where to go with this.

Just looks like the bolt has fell out and the two parts have rubbed together to me? Surely this doesn't warrant the frame being fucked? Just needs a new bolt sticking back in surely, or am I missing something?

Cant you use any knolly approved dealer to sort out the warranty?? Hubby got one if his bikes from bike scene, which is like 400 miles from our house (it had a great deal on the bike) but his fox talas started to play up so specialized concept store sorted the problem under warranty. Found out later that our local bike shop could have sorted it out for us instead.

Now I've actually slept, I'm not in such a bad mood about it.
I've messaged knolly directly explaining my issue. 3 emails later they've sent out 2 replacement bolt FoC.
Honestly I'm impressed, again.
So yeah, still gutted about the wear/damage and shock having died, but happy at the customer service they've provided!

Good result. Out of curiosity do you think the missing bolt has caused the damage to the shock by adding sideways movement?

I`m with it now,i thought that you discovered the wear after you`d taken the bolt out but I`m now thinking the bolts dropped out at some point and that's caused the wear/damage. have I got it right?

Get some paint on it before you bolt it up for a bit of protection.

Toys have been picked up and replaced this morning after I got the emails.
As for whether the missing bolt has caused the issue? I reckon so tbh. Still, shock's getting sent off for warranty work and bolts are coming through the mail. Ideal.
