I was over Stanage yesterday, I've only ridden it twice but love it, trying to get all the way across the top without dabbing is tricky in this weather haha

when you say all the way across the top, do you mean the entire length riding the footpaths? or the short section leading to the top of the descent in your first pic?

I dropped down the staircase then went up long causeway, turned left and up the road to the layby, then doubled back across the edge to the start of the stairway then back the way i came towards Bamford.

yeah got yer! yes it is a technical challenge even in dry conditions. altho this is long causeway from dennis knoll car park. the one where you approached the top of the staircase then headed back towards bamford. it used to be a good technical descent itself until DCC did this to it a couple of years ago

The before and after pics.... Shocking!!! The lad who occasionally rides with me and was telling me how good it used to be showed me a little bit where nature is taking it back! Dcc are bloody shameful the way they are ruthlessly destroying natural trails!!!

DCC dont give a toss how they do the maintenance. im convinced the decision makers arnt outdoor types.they cant be. but they justified the long causeway work by saying it was to allow emergency vehicles access to stanage edge.

I agree with them not being outdoor folks, i also reckon they are accountant types that just do stuff as cheaply as possible without care for the surroundings
