Bought some new wheels a couple of months back. Had issues fitting anew cassette with expander to the free gun, seems its a little bit shorter and doesn't like the multiple split sprocket set combo with an expansion ring. So ordered a praxis wide range cassette which fits nicely and looks pretty cool.
the trouble now is that I hadn't even realised the rear was set up 135mm until I ride to fit the wheel and it's not reaching the dropouts. No biggy I remembered the wheels came with a large selection of end caps, valves and tools. Found the correct end caps so let's just take out the existing ones and swap them over.
The none drive side came out easy enough, the drive side one is stuck solid, I've been pulling at it with various types pliers for nearly an hour and the bugger turns but would budge a smidgen of a mm. Really peed off as I've ridden the bike for a while owing to it being I the lbs for a dropper warranty issue and thought switching out the wheels, caste and chain would be an half hour job, everything went smoothly and what should have been the easy bit is doing my head in.
yes the cassette has been removed whilst I'm trying to remove the end cap. The free hub won't come off with the cap in place and I don't want to force the hub and potentially ruin the bearings.

Can you not drift it out from the opposite side (through the hub)?.

its smooth as a babies bum as its a 12mm axle and 12mm spacer, just 135mm instead of 142 I need.
I think ive just had an official Doh moment as I found a clip on youtube which was part of a free hub service clip, I think you have o undo it with a spanner! Im so used to end caps just popping off on the last few sets of wheels ive had, as did the none drive side and both sides of the front wheel on this set. I think its something to do with the self pre load method on the mavic rear so you can hold the drive side whilst you tighten or loose the pre load nut on the other side with the special mavic preload tool/spanner.

Sorted the rear and moved onto the simple job of slipping the front in. Bloody thing is way too wide with the 15mm end caps in. Quick google again found that they have preinstalled 20mm spacers which again need to be unscrewed, nice an easy when you know how.
Why these bloody companies include all kinds of instructions of how to get a tyre on etc but can't include something about removing the spacers if they are not easily popped out.

I got all kitted our and ready to nip over to Gisburn this morning and then suddenly felt like shit, been a bit up and down all day since. Couldn't even be bothered feckling the front hub conversion to stick the wheel in.
I can't get out now until next week unless it's a reasonable night on Sunday and I might go for an early evening spin out.
