For the 'minus' days. Bone hard, frozen mud ridges and ice - sunny and bright. Freezing but clean and dry and don't you love a hot drink after?. I am sick to the back teeth of this miserable, sloppy shite we have at the minute.
That is all.
As you were.

Yep, nothing like freezing your lungs with every intake of breath lol. Makes you know you are alive! Think, being honest with myself - I'm a fair weather rider at heart, I include minus conditions in that though. It can be -10 as long as it's dry for me. It's not that I don't enjoy it, once out I always do, but I hate the bloody major clean up operation after the ride. So much so I've bought a cross trainer until the weather turns colder and I can go out again! it was either that or a (gulps) road bike I don't give a toss if the hardcore mudhuggers look down on me - I feckin well don't like mud.

agree with that, dry sunny cold rides are good.this mild wet riding gets a bit off-pissing, altho i dont mind getting splattered with with mud, its the unridable slop that i dont like. oh and sheet ice! dont like that!its got to be cold and dry,not cold and icy

Why just minus temps ? Throw a little virgin snow into the equation too ! If it's the right kind of snow grip and traction is fantastic ... You southern boys do know what snow is ..don't you ? Lol

Too right Glynn. I enjoy every ride, but last time I went out in a slopfest (which was with Gaz, beanz and others) it was a great laugh, but cleaning me, the bike and my gear actually took longer than the ride. I'm not doing it anymore, cold and dry it is (but yeah, not icy)

Funnily enough Neil yeah, I was going to say snow rides are great too, don't mind them at all especially the soft landings! We do have snow now and again, down in the sunny south...

Got up this morning and put on my mtb clothes as i wanted to go over stile cop. I sat in them till lunch time before I realised that the rain wasnt about to give up. Went christmas shopping instead and now I'm sitting down with a face like a smacked arse moaning at everyone. I'd even aranged baby sitters to pick the kids up from school:'-(

'Face like a smacked arse' that's one of my mom's favourite sayings (mostly aimed at me). Along with 'Face like a bosted boot' Mom is a West Brom girl, still makes me larrf when I hear these.

I know exactly how you feel Kalli ..can't be arsed to go out in the rain sitting around thinking will I won't I ..then absolutely hating yourself when you don't ..when the easiest thing is not to think about it and just do it ! Then everyone else cops it for the mood that inevitably puts you in ... Don't sweat it too much ..it happens to us all ..haha !!

As soon as my bike's back on the trail I'll be heading out for a nice crisp ride. Loads of trails I found at the end of summer when they were soaked through, can't wait to ride them when they're a little more frozen!

Shock's off for warranty repair, and I'm still waiting on the bolts from Knolly, I doubt they'll arrive this side of Christmas to be fair :/
