ok so whether you've decided to have a break for a bit, or carrying on through all the gloop...............what has been your MTB highlight of the year? i think mine was the ride and magnificant views from the top of snowdon.

Most probably the bowerdale ride. Sorry no pics.
Glentress was close along with in around Grizedale. Also enjoyed coed brenin and antur stiniog for thrills up until my bump.
Enjoyed almost every ride I've been on though. A degree of escapism and often a bit of exploring. Adventure may be over doing it.

My highlight ride of the year was the first one we did together…some really great sections. Can we do it again in the Spring please? My biggest achievement of the year was doing both The Beast and Spud Alley on the same day on my HT without dabbing or falling…lol!

I'm not sure I can honestly answer that! So many good rides in cool places. Up there has got to be when I was in Annecy and then Finale Ligure and did some brutal days on the bike. Quite a few days with 7,000-8,0000ft of climbing and loads of cool trails. Looking forward to heading out there again, but for 6 weeks to do some guiding for the guys I did some riding with out there! http://instagram.com/p/5KPMaKLSP8

The standout ride for me is one that I never completed due to my shoe splitting and it became too dangerous due to the nature of the trail to carry on as my cleat would not unclip..I had to fall off and wrestle with it . It was a solo ride very early one morning from Toscaig ( near to Applecross and from the door of our holiday cottage ) I wouldn't swear to it but because there was an 8' high deer fence to negotiate ..I had a feeling that mine was the first mountain bike to have been on this trail ... It was utterly fantastic Singletrack ..saw a herd of deer and on the return ..which was mainly down and therefore rideable with my foot on top of the pedal ..the views over to the Isle of Skye were simply superb . That apart the away trip to Arran was once again superb ..everyone should visit ! The best group ride was the Ant led Grizedale ride on natural trails ..the most "air " I have ever had riding a bike and totally unintentional ...and all because I was following that nutter Russell who's laughter when I girly screamed in fear echoed all the way down that descent ! My biggest disappointment was jamming my rear mech into my wheel and having to miss the first half of the Forum Bowderdale ride with the lads ... I've enjoyed riding with all of the lads who I have met from the forum ...and look forward to sharing some more rides in the future ..with you and riders I've yet to meet

There are a few to choose from, but (as ever) chair lifts and heat stand out
