Been a while since I last posted. One thing has changed. I sold the Commencal Meta after owning it for 6 month. Honestly it looked good, but it didn't feel good, at first it did and then after a couple of rides it didn't feel as solid as I thought it should, plus I never got out on it enough to keep it. So I sold the bike last week and was left with all the gear. I couldn't be bothered to sell it all so i thought buy another. Definitely not another Commencal though! My aim was to not spend as much, that way, if i dont get out on it as much i wont feel as guilty with it being sat there on the wall rack for a couple of month at a time. So i picked this beauty up. Got it for an absolute bargain, fantastic condition, all the paper work, original receipt, all the warning stickers still on it and its solid and looks great. I plan to eventually make it look stealthy, full black apart from the existing red (makes it look evil mwahahaha). A 50mm stem will be going on it and some wider and lower bars. So here it is. Specialized Pitch

It is, when i spoke to the chap he said its like new but I thought it can't be, you hear it a lot when people are selling bikes and you turn up and its covered in scratches, but this, I saw it and the first thing I said was, god it is like new. The previous owner, really looked after it and used it for riding on trans pennine trails, all flat stuff and it really refects, you can tell he wasn't lying, everything is standard apart from the front maxxis tyre. Virtually no wear on the rear cassette and front chain rings or the chain, im suprised, he must have been like me and rode it twice a year! Lol

It looks great...all it needs is a dropper...I don't know how much more stealth can you make it!? Lol Looks mean and moody as it is! Lol Interested to understand why such negative views on the Meta? From what I've read before it's a great bike apparently!

From what I've read before it's a great bike apparently! It probably is but for me personally it wasn't, I felt the quality wasn't there on the frame. It probably is and it was me being paranoid. I was in love with it when it arrived and on the first couple of rides then that love quickly disappeared! I'd hear noises coming from somewhere and I had no idea where, then it would go and then come back again!! I ride at grenoside regular and the meta just made me think twice about doing a jump or a drop that I've done easily before on other bikes. I felt confident on it and then all of a sudden I didn't trust it anymore. Most people say they are great bikes but for myself it definitely didn't feel like it.

I wondered what had happened to you! You can't beat stealth with a bit of red chucked in for bling mate - good choice, lovely looking bike.

That's an out of date pic now - the shock is an all black debonair these days. I reckon if you could get some black Revs or Pikes on yours it's be even better. Hope it rides as good as it looks mate!

I'm looking for some black pikes but they all are tapered so I'll have to buy a conversion to fit them. Then I need to get hunting for a shock. I did plan on fitting my spare 50mm stem tonight but then I realised its for oversized bars! So a stem will come first because 85mm and a 35 degree rise just ain't right on that bike!

No, I'll bet - 85mm!
What do you reckon to the X-fusion shock? I only ask as I have X-fusion Sweeps on the front of my HT and tbh, they are just as good as the Pikes, so I wondered if the shock was any cop as well?

The shock is lovely and plush, feels great, i had one on the Commencal too. They seem to be able to take some hammer for a cheap air shock! You can pick one up brand new for about £100...

The X-fusion range gets rave reviews, quality kit at budget prices (compared to Sram and Fox).
Yes Mata - on the XT rotors, they do look smart - just about to order a set for the Chief as the Formula's are silly expensive and mine are about frazzled after 2 years of stopping my bulk!

Thanks mate, it looks great in person. I love the stealth look on bikes (Well, I do now after owning a bike that you could see coming down the trail from 5 miles away!).

I took it out today for its first ride and I'm impressed, needs a strip down and re greasing as I don't think it's seen grease since it being manufactured! But apart from that the bike feels great. It feels better than my commie which is a huge positive!
