Thinking of Gargrave or Clapham or maybe hebden if it stays reasonable if it turns for the worse then maybe rivington or Darwen (some combination) if it turns pear shaped.
Could also be be tempted to south lakes area.

I've been away a fair bit recently so need to show my face at home as much as possible but the kids do gymnastics and swimming on Saturday until mid afternoon so okay to ride but will have to give a trip up to Scotland a miss.
I'll have a think about possible routes.

I'm planning on riding Ullswater Shore on Saturday morning, leaving mine around 8, so should be setting of from Pooley Bridge at 10ish. 21 miles 2500 climbing and around 3 hours taking it easy.I was going to add Martindale singletrack on to the ride but if you fancy it and are pushed for time we can skip that bit. It's nearly as quick to get to as Ullswater as Ambleside (34 minutes from j36 to j40) This is the route without Martindale www.strava.com/activities/415563711

Sorry I thought I had replied earlier but musnt have hit reply before my battery went.
Unfortunately when I mentioned the prospect of a late return from the lakes to my Mrs she reminded me that im going to my parents for Dinner and due there around 3.30pm so I really need to stay a bit more local.
Can choose from Clapham, Darwen to Rivington, hurstwood into Hebden. Or possibly a route from Gargrave to hetton (new to me but I have a map and point by point instructions).

Mike how does 9 sound at the royal fold car park. We can head through the woods and over towards Rivington or up and down from the tower first.

An enjoyable ride around darwen area with Mike this morning, nice steady pace list of frozen mud and ruts, enjoyed the descents from the tower which are cutting up more and getting more interesting as they do. Mike I know you didn't have your Garmin today so for your info here's the details. www.strava.com/activities/503510374/segments/12093273865Don't know how I managed to take 9 seconds of the royal ripper or whatever's it's called at the end as I had to near enough stop for the group of dog walkers that had tried to barricade the path. Would have been fast without them.

No time for pics hodgy too busy pedalling steady, chatting and putting the world to rights like a pair of old blokes on a park bench. That's why it turned in to such a pleasant no pressure ride. One of the better ones you realise at the end.

What do you mean "where's the list " what list, have I forgot something?
I didn't take a camera today, good phone or even my cheapo emergency one as I wasn't expecting any drama, also I may be taking the scenery for granted around there but over than another picture of the same hills and tower there's no real features.
