Forum rides should should have the ride type mentioned before hand I ve been out with Glynn a few times now and it's always been a social thing. Ride chat ride chat nick my sandwich chat and ride a bit more If people want to go out and smash strava times that's all good but make sure everybody else on the ride fancies it to.... It could be a bit off putting for a newbie if they are left behind True enough...that's why you will nearly always find that on any ride that I post it nearly always says ...relaxed pace. I don't think I did for the ride I posted for today...but before anyone gets carried away...the above applies!

I actually like the climbs. It's what I ride for. (God's honest truth) same ere. climbing is just part of the whole thing. im not sure if iv given out the wrong vibes with my first post. I always wait for the ones at the back and have always been waited for by the guys at the front. but my point was that IMO, group rides are very much about the banter, but also the ride, but if there is too much difference in skill and fitness it can spoil the ride for the whole group. if everyone finishes the ride with a huge grin and good feeling, then that's what its all about. That's wots it's about having fun and getting home safe , I always put on my rides that I plod ... If I'm trying to keep up with super fast boys , I won't enjoy it .. I go at my own pace .. Which is steady to me.. Average speed is not that high for my self. My skill level aren't that great , so that's why I'm steady down hill .. As long as people don't mind waiting for me happy days if they don't then I'll make my way .. But got to say do enjoy riding in groups geriatric banter Just read that post wtf .... ( lmao ) my ipad spel checker thing aghhhhhh pmsl (where did that come from geriatric ) lol banter.

In our groups we go at our own pace on the ups an downs and wait for the slower riders at the top or bottom of section of trail. it's easy to see after the first climb and descent who's good a what.
I rarely use strava on Mtb rides, but always do on the road.

I have to say I have been out on a few groupe rides with a few lads from here. Irideabike motozulu Will to name a few. Not once have I been made to feel like I have held any one up although I spend most of my time panting at the back
I have been out on one groupe ride with some others and although I was not left behind it was pretty evident that they did not wish to keep waiting for me so I made my excuses and left the group to it and made my own fun
i think if you want a group ride it is a group ride not a race so chill ride take the piss and drink ale

I'm not the fastest and getting slower! I don't enjoy being tail end charlie but everyone I ride with is better and quicker than me so I do rely on lads waiting around a bit. In any group there are always going to be differing levels so it's just a part of being in a group.

I enjoy group rides and for me that involves being out and about having a laugh and a piss about with people who like riding bikes. I don't/can't race but I think that's the beauty of trail centres. You all know where your going, the routes easy to follow and it's all done in sections so you can stop and regroup after each one if you need to. If it's all about racing and going fast then that right there takes the fun out of it for me and if I'm not enjoying it then I can quickly take the battery out my give a fuck and put it in my go fuck yourself!!!

I quite like being towards the back of the pack, that way as long as not trailing too badly, I can let everyone else chose the lines and I can just follow, riding with those who are fitter definitely helps you to get fit quicker, and I have to say that being a follower can get you over things that you may baulk at otherwise. Point in case: San Marino run on Rivvy, first time down, I followed Ukan who had done it previously, so he set off at his pace and I followed his lines - thought I was going out the front door at one point and still to this day no idea how I stayed on, but when I have reviewed sections of it on foot since then, there are loads of bits that had I been on my own, or in front, would have slammed on and said "No ta, too scary". I find that being a cake provider for the group, encourages the group not to abandon you as well

That is the problen with being a T.E.C. Kitty, the fast, fit buggers get rest they don't need whilst waiting for us, I just go from one wheezefest to another.

I just assume that unless I happen across someone who has come off, then I will see everyone at the end!!!

If I get left behind, I get left behind... However if I catch up with those who've ignorantly, and anti socially left me... I'll simply ride over their heads... And I've just fitted some nice nobbley tyres on the 5 No offence btw...

Ill admit when ive been on group rides im towards the back but I'm getting better at hills and technical climbs. Probably because i realised the forks rebound was set way way to high . Now i actively go out an look for hills cos im weird like that
