Afternoon all,
Been looking at both the heckler and Bronson and cannot make my mind up, any of you out there have either of the 2016 models
Also capabilities of the heckler ?, found good reviews on Bronson but struggling to find any reviews on the heckler
Thanks in advance and hope you can help me decide

Bronson is probably the more logical choice, though i find vpp lifeless and regardless of the warranty, bearing changes are a pain.
Heckler wont pedal as well, wont be as quick, but you may (might be rose tinted glasses here, its been a while) find it more engaging to ride.

Reasons against heckler chaps ?
I do like the Bronson but it's at the maximum I want to spend and just a little concerned it's more than I may need, I believe the servicing is more fiddly on them also ?

If you think the Bronson is more than you need then go for the 5010..it's fantastic. Don't know anything about the Heckler to have an opinion

The heckler is the single pivot version of the bronson. Simpler design, less to go wrong but i prefer vpp. Just feels nicer to me. If you do get one of them I advise just getting the frame then buying all the other bits separately from crc/merlin, etc. You'll save yourself a fair whack over a full bike.
General servicing vpp is easy but changing the bearings when they go is a ballache as I found out. Even with all the proper tools it's easier to get someone else to do it. Trust me.

I come from a motocross back ground which I competed for many years, some time since I rode pintail bikes however I still feel i have good control of a mountain bike, I like to out see the great outdoors trail ride, bits of dh but I ain't looking or the type of air I used to get on an mx bike. Want to also use for the short Ride I have to work on and off also, tough decision just want to make the rite one with the cash I am parting with

I thought they hade fazed the heckler out so obvs didn't think enough of it to bother updating like they have the bronson and 5010. If you want a one bike does all that can be ridden all day but ready for a bit more aggro than I would definitely say bronson. New version mind as they said the older one wallowed into the sag.

Does anyone in her ride a heckler 2016 ?
Also likewise for the bronson, is the base rate Bronson at 3099 worth going for in comparison to the 3099 top spec heckler

Anyone of you guys on here ride both bikes in question ? I think, besides what people say, you need to try them both yourself just to be sure! And understand exactly which one suits your rides mostly...

Or you could buy the base spec complete Bronson from Stif for £3099 and strip everything from the frame and sell it. It's a no brainer IMO as the frame retails at 2800 alone. Yes it's only the C frame and not the CC but would that really bother you?

Definitely a good idea, you'd easily make some money back plus an overall saving on the frame. Then just add the components you want and jobs a good'un

My brother is talking about this with the Spectral there is only £300 difference between the Frame and the lowest spec model so he would make his money back
