I had to return my Bird Zero frame after having a paint issue on the replacement frame sent back for the same issue, which coincided with a nice reduction on the crc site so picked up the mega tr 2015 for £545 with monarch debonair. A good fit for the 150mm forks I had on the zero. Had issue with a second hand reverb I bought but after a lot of feckling I've go it all set up and ready to go now. dt swiss xm1501 wheelset 150mm rock shox revs. xt m8000 drivetrain with old style xt crankset fitted with absolute black oval chainring. shimano deore brakes to be replaced with xt at some point. renthal carbon lite bars charge spoon saddle on recomendations. rock shox reverb new model. Tyres are butcher front and purgatory rear both grid. the zero was supposed to be my wife's although she only rode it once, I'm not sure if she will like this replacement but it's far more capable for dropping of kerbs and stuff.lol. something tells me I may get more use out of it. Although I'm quite interested in the new vitus sommet carbon. What do you think I could get for this with a un ridden and not yet registered frame?

Hahaha you put on the easiest part to change (grips) if she changes her mind I like your thinking mate btw it matches the Scout quite nicely

It's a it similiar to the scout really isn't it? Doesn't really compliment if just does everything the same I think. Trouble is I couldn't find too many frames that could make use of the forks and other bits as well as this does
I was thinking I may build one heavier and more sited to the choppy stuff and one lighter for more mixed riding. When I checked the weight out they are identical, both at 13.4kg. Although the scout has 150gm heavier wheels and 150gm heavier pedals. So could do the scout 13.1 and the mega 13.7,I'll see how I get on first.

I just bought a frame mate and built it up from the spares so I can send bird their frame back. Cost me 50 quid more plus the second hand dropper and ring so a couple of hundred more than the bird

Just to testing to see of I can sell it whilst the frame hasn't been ridden as I doubt rachel will ride it much and I have my eye on something. If not I'll keep it and ride the two buggers until they break. That's the bike I'm talking about not the mrs.

Tidy looking bike..
What size is it and would you be looking to sell the whole bike or would you consider selling just the frame and shock?

It's a medium, I got a frame to use up the parts and either ride or sell it. I've just thought as I can't ride it for a bit to see if I may get any interest before the frame is ridden.
The frames one of only one or two that I would want and is a good fit for all of the parts.
If yon want a frame though crc still have 5 mediums but only in raw.

Could not resist slinging a leg over the mega so took it for it's maiden voyage last Sunday. Nice enough day and ground level but still a bit of snow and lots of slush on the tops. The bike handles great soaking everything up with no problems, the two travel setting on the forks came in handy with lots of long steep climbs around Calderdale, actually pedals up hills easier than the scout, the fork was fine on the downs as well but I expect it to get a bit twangy when I need to make sharp turns through choppy stuff. Still handled the rocky staircases of pecketts well just fine. Only trouble is that it's far to similar to the scout and the scout just seems a bit more lively on flat to downs and pumps and pops better. A pic looking out over lower gorple res from the gorple rocks, I always stop here as there are good views but more importantly you can shelter in between the large rocks whilst having a toilet stop. Some of the steep rooty sections of Pecket well. It's always been fun but after the floods it's washed away even more.I was pushing up this time unfortunately as it's a steep one, still gave me chance to study some lines for next time. This batch of roots always look a bit tricky when coming down as you can see the first one which wouldn't be a problem but then a large loose root poking out a wheel length further down ready to catch your wheel and send you OTB down the steep and broken cobbled hillside. I think the only option is to try and launch off the first root and carry over the others, just a bit off putting when you can't see over the edge the first time around so you don't know what you are launching into.

It's the wife's bike so the grips may have to stay. Once they are worn the replacement will be black or blue to match the logos.
