Following on from choppers post I thought I would share my favourite bit of trail. 6 mins of the best downhill fun for me. Never fails to have me grinning at the bottom and my wee cube hardtail just glad it's made it down in one piece. Only downside is its a 35 min ride to get to the start....(Not my video)
So what's your favourite little gem?

Looks like such a blast! Once I get back out on the bike I'll head out to a local trail and get a video, absolute riot and has been used for the UKGE before.

La varda in les arcs, no contest...
Chest cam is a bit crumby, but it was the end of a week there, just me and darren left out of our group and the only ones who wanted to try this trail we'd not yet done, we knew it was one of the few trails there that definitely had a strava segment at the time too, so looking at it on the maps we figured we could have a crack at doing it in one and getting a heroic kom.
It was about 40mins long in total, the first 15mins was fairly gentle gradient lakes style technical singletrack, before we dropped into the valley and i started filming. As usual the camera takes out all the gradient, but as a guide if you can see the top tube its steep and if you can see the seat i was sat on the back tyre.
Its a long time to listen to to some guy/brakes moaning slowly down an alp, but in summary, 0-5mins dropping into the valley, 5-10mins riding along the edge of a cliff edge, 10-20mins starting to get into some vegetation now this was like a trials stage, 20-25mins into forests and mellowing out.
I cant even begin to explain how ruined i was by the end of this, it was like doing half an hr of push ups.

Jesus timbo I am knackered just watching that. I would of killed myself doing that. Fair play to you. A couple of sore looking offs as well didn't stop you ( the one a 7 mins looked nippy, in front of walkers as well). The scenery is amazing. Is it really tough on the lungs at altitude like that, I am out of puff at sea level!! Puts what we have to ride here to shame.
Now where's my passport.

Yeah that was stupid, again you dont see the gradient, but when i sat up my feet were right at the edge of what was probably a 30ft cliff, all because i lost concentration for a second. When i got to the bottom the palms of my hands split across my knuckles and started pissing blood out after the arm pumped died off. We're back there this summer, cant wait, will defos be back on that trail but will split it up so can actually enjoy it. Les arcs is great if you like that sort of stuff, not necessarily fast, but steep, mega technical and a real challenge to ride.

No fucking way man ... I would have killed myself on some of that shit... Awesome trail though..maybe you should do it at the start of the week when you are fresh next time out ...my missus shouted through " what the hell are you watching ?"...and she had a point as I've heard better soundtracks though. lol Nice one !

Looks awesome Timbo...! Specially with that weather! Shame you fell on what looked like not a very hard section in comparison to others...but it only takes a second with your eyes out of the ball!? Maybe it was the pressure of the ramblers nearby!? Lol
Looks proper fun!

If you want to laugh at my misfortune, I bin it hard at 19.30 and then fall down a hill into a load of nettles at 21.30
I've got massive holiday excitement after watching this again, need to start a count down!!

I aint got one stand out fav really, there are many that are good for different reasons. However, this track in the lesser known resort of Meribell was rad. Nothing on it is particularly gnarly, it just has loads of massive jumps that you end up hitting, I think its the first DH trail I have managed to clean every feature on, the one at 2.20 felt like you were jumping over a massive gap of roots, which you were to be fair.
This is me chasing me mate Danny down it, danny has a 12 year old DH bike, he is daft
Actually my probable actual fav is Revs Far Track, its gnarly as hell when wet, he's a reverse cam down it
