Decided to take the Mega a run out and most likely keep it. first a couple of trail side adjustments were required, I forget to nip up the grips tightly and the front rotor was catching badly and the noise was doing my head in. Then just a gentle local bimble to test both the bike and my own fitness after a week of mostly eating, drinking and laying around in the sun. the bike faired better than me to be fair. first of all the pedal bob is actually better when just winching up fire road climbs and road mileage. The suspension feels really plush, only used around 60% of the 130mm travel despite hitting a couple of rocky and cobbled descents. Seems to pump really well and accelerates nicely even with the suspension fully open. the use of my old dual position revolutions from the hardtail works really well, dropping the travel to 120mm on climbs stopped the front end from wandering about like it did when set at 150mm. The forks and geo felt good on descents when opened up to 150mm and coped okay but I had it in the back of my mind that the 32mm stanchions would be noodly when it got a bit more choppy. In straightish lines they seemed fine. charge spoon saddle was kind on the arse and after the 20 miles I had no discomfort at all from riding the saddle for the first time. lovely weather today but it must have been very wet last weekend as the trails were holding a lot of water and muddy as hell. a few pics a muddy mega after climbing up from Clowbridge res. tough climb on a sloppy field. A view from the Rossendale Halo.

Glad you like john. I found it feels stable on the fast lumpy stuff. Seems to just soak up the bumps and good on the climbs

How does it compare to the Scout John

To be honest it's very similar. Probably pedals lanes and fire road etc better and climbs slightly better. The pedals a but more easy to move round. Not a lot in it though. If it's not passing it down tomorrow I might go for a blast around Gisburn.
Torn between keeping the mega as it is and extending the fork to 150 on the scout or swap the forks and wheels over so the scouts lighter and the mega is a little more hardcore. Or just keep as is or go with my original plan of selling the mega and swapping for a 150/160 travel.
As long as I'm changing something every few months I'm happy.
