Stripped down the old 2009 Commencal Meta 55 to give it a good clean and lube.... I noticed a few scuff marks on both sides of the rear tyre wall along with holes that were worn through.... bloody disgusted I was as it was the original Larsen TT tyre that came fitted to the bike when I bought it brand new, and there was plenty of tread left on it.........LMAO.... I also noticed that the original jockey wheels on the rear derailleur were worn down to points like a Ninja shuriken throwing star....LOL.... gears change up and down just fine and there is no slippage... so I ain't gonna change the jockey wheels...
Not bad for an auld bike that back in the day was nicknamed the "Crackencal" because the frames were cracking........

I pulled the ratchet out of my rear hub on the process after 5 rides, obviously I am bare hench with legs like pistons on a paddle steamer, but still. Its a Novatech hub, it doesnt make a clicky noise when you freewheel which is a good benchmark for deciding if a hub is crap or not, clicky ones like hope always last a lot longer.
Also my "new" KS lev seat post requires a 110kg impact to make it go up and down and mostly feels like two bits of dry nylon sliding into each other, I am glad I didnt buy it aftermarket, would be wounded.

My KS LEV has been faultless over 18 months and is still silky smooth - all I've ever done is a normal wash and a bit of silicon spray.

to be fair I am nit picking here, every other part of the Kona is performing without fault. The Pikes are another level compared to other suspension forks and I have been pleasantly surprised with the X11 sram drive train
The seat post needs to go back under warranty me thinks

It's the rider that lets it down, nevermind the seatpost.
