So it arrived today along with a new chain and 30t chain ring.
As Motozulu said they are a doddle to fit and set up, whole thing from start to finish inc test ride round block took around half hour.
only adjustments needed were three turns of the b screw and 2 1/4 turns on the barrel adjuster and was shifting like butter. Quick spin around the block and it shifts as good as or if not better than the xt it's just replaced.
Kept my 32t upfront as the 42 is big coming from an 11-36 so I'll see how I get on.
Used a 116 link chain and removed 4 links and it's spot on.
So so overall I'm impressed, and for 40 quid delivered its such a great way of getting the 1x11 spread for less than a 1/4 of the cash!!

I was.impressed with mine and it does seem to shift better than my old 11/36 Mostly the reason I didn't go for an expander instead tbb

What cage length is your rear mech Dave? I need a lower gear on the full suss but I'm reluctant to spend any money on it as I want to replace it. I don't mind spending 40 quid on a cassette and a few quid for a new chain

It's a long xt stu ( the five came as a 3x10 originally) managed to get a Deore chain for 10.99 as well( My chain of choice as I've used them with no problems for years) So easy to fit and set up as well. Just a couple of tweaks.

Typer if you have a single chain ring at the front the cassette is fine with a medium cage mech. I'm running a medium cage slx with the sx3 sunrace cassette on one bike. The chain ring can be as large as you like

I was toying with the idea of an expander but so glad I didn't. cheaper and the shifts on the sun race are so smooth! from the research id done on expanders they need rad cages or goat link extenders to get working well, more cost and more tricky to set up smooth.

Cheers Dave, I couldn't for the life of me get my expander working, ended up binning it in frustration. Utter shite!! This could be a solution though. Clutch has gone in the car this morning though so this may have to wait till pay day lol

shitter, are you getting it sorted ok? let me know if you need anything. assuming you still have the a6? Yeah it's getting sorted thanks, it's the clutch in the C4 that I use for work/bike duties so it's not going to break the bank. The A6 is sweet as a nut
