Hi guys n gals been looking at some new wheels jusy looking for some opinions on these www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1957518/i have read that they are more xc and a bit flexiable just wondering with a heavy lad like myself if they would be ok also been looking at these www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1974691/as they seem to read up as a little more robust i mainly ride cannock as you know and am not a major leauge jumper or even an sunday leauge jumper to be honest so just wondering if the crest would be ok for me as they are set up with the axles i need to use . cheers

I remember with mine that tyres were an absolute nightmare to get on 'em. As for the strength of them - I wouldn't worry unless you're taking up DH!

If you are over 11 or 12 stone and riding rocky stuff with occasional drops etc without a doubt get the flow ex. You will be Trueing the crests at regular intervals.

I replaced my crest's with flow ex's after getting the crest's trued 3 times and then rebuilt. They are light though

You'll be fine with 'em True - and I know Eurobob won't take offence here, as I am also no racing snake - but there is a bit of a weight difference between your good self, beansy and our Bob. Fine on XC stuff I would think but like others have said - anything a bit rough and the extra weight we carry is going straight through those rims on even small drops and jumps. I'd go with the Flow's Chris, if it was me buying wheels. *also, the flows have red hubs....reedddd....hmmmmmm...*

The fact that the crest already has a dink in speaks volumes.

Flow ex on my Banshee at the moment and no complaints. But then again I don't really have anything to compare against.

Crests are ok for general trail stuff but just don't go hard on them, i had them, bust a spoke but on closer inspection i had dings and flat spots on both wheels so they had to be binned and re built with something a bit tougher, they were also limited to a 2.2 tyre, any bigger and it would get mis shapen or blow off

A good pair of wheels is one of those upgrades where you definitely feel a difference...while you are at it, set it up tubeless!
