Going to the IOM over the spring bank holiday and wondered if there any locals on here fancy showing me where all the really good stuff is?

Recent Discussions - Manx Mountain Bike Club Forums - Manx Mountain Bike Club Ltd www.manxmtb.com/forum/You could try contacting someone on here Gaz ... I did a cycle tour as a 12 year old with kids that my uncle taught ...I was the youngest at the time ... My bike was a Raleigh with sturmy archer 3 speed gears ...I had a speedo on it that went up to 40 mph and can remember coming down TT mountain with the needle just bouncing back and forth between 0 and 40 and overtaking cars on the way ! Don't know about no fear ...no brains more like with not a bit of protection...helmets hadn't been thought of back then never mind knee or elbow protection ... All road stuff of course ...but in my defence not drop bars ... I also remember one of the lads doing it all on a Raleigh Chopper and being almost split in two at the end of the tour . We got the train down ...then ferry across cycled around the island then ferry back and cycled back from Liverpool(?) back to the North East staying in Youth hostels.. on the way ...that's what nurtured my love of bikes... Anyway I'm rambling on ...hope you find someone

This is the third time over with a bike (7th time over) so I've ridden most of the published routes.Last year I rode round the only trail center on the island which was a blue grade and a 3-4 mile loop but bumped into a bloke who pointed me in the direction of a nearby plantation and told me to look out for a red arrow painted on a tree. This arrow led to a real good trail with load of jumps drops, rocks roots, all built by locals.I'd have never of found it without a pointer. There's almost nothing on Strava.
A local over on STW offer to take me on a 70mile all dayer last year but I politely declined
