Not sure if this has been covered yet... Saw it on Facebook yesterday so decided I'd post it on here. www.mbr.co.uk/videos/bikes-and-equipment/hxr-easy-shift-the-groupset-that-lets-you-shift-without-pedallingBasically, the cassette is fixed to the rear wheel, and the freewheel moves to the cranks, meaning the chain is always in motion so that you can change gear whenever you like. Certainly not for budget builds at the moment, but I really like it. Maybe more chain wear, but much less likely to snap a chain trying to change gear after not predicting the trail I like it!

Another step forward - looks good to me.

That looks pretty clever. Pity the website and literature is in French though......

Looks pretty good this does.. Not sure I'd stump up the asking price though!
Am I right in thinking that your only choice of cranks and chainrings are theirs??

Looks like it. As the crank includes a free hub I doubt anyone else will manufacture them. Not sure on chain rings - don't see why others wouldn't fit as long as the spider is a standard diameter.

Hmm cost is a big deal for me.. need to become a standard to keep the prices down, and replacements cheap. Excellent engineering thougg..

Yeah, its going to be expensive, but i think its pretty cool! Certainly, if money was no problem, it would be on my bike for sure! Chainset wise, yeah it will probably be propitiatory at first, however like said about, would be cool to become standard.

I used to have a monty trials bike with a similar front freehub, my late 90s baggy jeans got caught in it as i was riding along and it almost ate my entire leg off... several times actually, lucky to be alive.
