Looking for some new rubber for when I get the Mega sorted. Don't really be wanting to swap summer/winter so looking for something that'll work all year round. Been eyeing up the on-one Chunky Monkey and Smorgasbord in the dual compound flavour for £20 each. Don't want to spend more than £60 for the pair. Any other suggestions?

The Chunk and smorg are ok - had em on the SS rigid BUT the best combo I have ever used is the Magic Mary front and Nobby Nic rear, get them from Bike-discount.DE for under 60 squid too. The Minion/Ardent is good too but more expensive and I still think the MM tops the Minion.

You want a MM trailstar up front, Nobby Nic pacestar for the rear. You want folding, tubeless easy and snakeskin too.
I got mine for under 60 quid but I don't know if the exchange rate post referendum has knackered that up a bit.
Edit - Yep, coming out at 65 quid atm.

Super gravity rear Snake skin front
Vertstar is soft grippy - wears down quicker Trailstar medium Pace star fast rolling - hard wearing
Up to you which compounds
Iv got a Trailstar Mary up front had no problems with it and it's had some abuse and not showing any signs of wear and hasn't washed out yet ( other than me being a tool and taking a massivly wrong line)

I think I'll give the on-one's a go. Can do the whole lot inc. tubeless for around the £60.

Like I said, I had them on the SS (though they were tubed) and though the Chunk was a bit heavy and draggy - it gripped well enough. Think you'll like them.

Cheers Pez. Should be better than my current single compound Conti's.
What fluid do you recommend for going tubeless?
