I know this type of thread has featured before ..but I can't find it ! About the only thing I'm not liking on the new bike is the Whyte "in house" saddle ..my poor nads are getting chaffed to bits.I have tilted the saddle slightly down... but it's still not comfy. For the last 10 years I've been sitting on top of an I-beam SDG Bel Air ...and love the comfort of it ... Is there anything out there you would recommend other than this ? It would now have to be railed version. I'm going to have to live with the current saddle for a few weeks if I want to keep what's left of my nadgers...the camping holiday is on the horizon so all funds are diverted towards that and I won't be able to sneak another purchase past the boss .. although I could try saying that it's in her interests too ( but I probably know the answer to that already !). So what's good in the saddle world ?

Normally everybody will reccomend what they have in reply to these types of questions.
I'm going to do the same, whoever I've only just got one after so many people recommended it, the fabric scoop, radius elite to give the full title.
Comfortable from the first ride, no fabric on it or seams to cause chaff age or hold dirt, cleans up like new. Not a weight weenie but neither is it heavy at 256gm.

I might have been one of the people who recommended John the Fabric Scoop Radius (they are an upgraded version of the Charge Spoon). Also reviewed it here as part of my new built project thread before. I bought mine with the Ti rails (had to be done!) but also because the guy from Fabric told me it is the most comfortable. There are 3 profiles, thin, medium and thicker one depending on your riding position. Mine is the Radius. Really good saddle and you will notice all the great reviews and more and more bikes are coming out with them from new. Cleans really well and spot on design. I've had Fizik Gobi XM (supposed to be the bees knees of saddles! Bollocks!) which is no where near as good and comfortable as this one. SDG Bel Air is supposed to be very comfortable too. 1- Fabric Scoop 2 - Charge Spoon 3 - SDG Bel Air 4 - Madison Flux Here's my list in order. If price is a decisive factor, things might change. To give you an idea and if like me you like to read and research well before you buy: m.pinkbike.com/news/fabric-scoop-radius-seat-review-2014.htmlwww.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/components/saddles/product/review-fabric-flat-scoop-carbon-pro-14-48691/

Have fabric taken over the manufacture of this design now?

Yes G was one guy who suggested strongly the Fabric scoop and knowing how much he likes to research things before making a purchase i took it as a good testimonial along with other rave reviews, the good thing is they are one of the best value propositions as well.
I had always ridden a Fizik gobi on mountain bikes, i now have scoop on one bike and Charges previous version on the other. I prefer the new fabric one though as its smooth with areas for dirt to hide so it comes up as new after each clean.

Roundie...Fabric and Charge are own by the same people. But they want to make Charge just for bikes and Fabric for all other products. The design of all their products is very cool and so seems to be the quality. John, like you I used to ride Gobi because it was supposed to be really comfy...you can't compare it can you? Plus this one looks like it will last forever looking as it came out of the package

You're welcome...it's a service I provide! Lol I so should have shares... Good thing about the Fabric in comparison to the Charge is, no stitching, no chaffing, nothing to get ripped or look tatty! He saddle is made of 3 components only! I like good design that works! Their multi tool is a work of art too!

Yep - same here, fully recommend this saddle.

Thanks for the replies ...the fabric saddle is probably the one I will go for..however not just yet ! I've been faffing over the course of the last week with the angle of the dangle ( saddle!)...and repositioning on the rails and I think I have it sorted ...certainly no discomfort after yesterdays ride ..so I will be holding on to my spondoolies ( money) as I seem to have saved my goolies ..for now !

Changed my mind ...still in no hurry to change just yet but I'm favouring this as I have had two on my previous bike and loved them ... Wonder how long it takes a certain gentleman to notice that there is a pure titanium railed version....

Assume the weirdo with a Ti fetiche is me...lol My Fabric is the one with the Ti rails of course! Lol...apparently it gives a bit more comfort. For me, it's either a Fabric or one of the Ergon saddles (which also look sweet with a lot of research and development on them). But I'm looking forward to hear your review on the SDG.

Nice but 70 quid for a saddle? feck that for a game of soldiers. Not when you can get a Charge Spoon for 20 quid I'll never have anything different, because they just work - the Fabric is the Spoons successor, so that's the only other one I'd consider. The Chief came with a saddle I can't remember, but feck me it was like sitting on a knife. Sure it was an SDG summat but not the one you are looking at.

Just picked up a Spoon to try on the Mega - gonna see how it compares to the Henge. Having a specialized saddle on a Nukeproof is messing with my mojo....

I favour SDG saddles myself. Prefer light/minimal to sofa. Buns of steel me Lol...your opinion doesn't count on the matter of saddles!? Lol...NOT ALLOWED! (Aka the guy who had a full carbon plank as a saddle and doesn't even wear padded liners)!?
