Packed the bike in the car this afternoon to do a local ride...it starts on the edge of the forest some 3 miles away but as it's a bastard climb to get there on the road I always transport the bike to the start . The outside temp reading in the car said 31c..and having arrived at the start but forgotten my bike shoes common sense prevailed and I knocked it on the head . That's bloody heart attack weather!! I will try again later when hopefully it's a little cooler ....

I'm going tonight at 7.30 so expecting 25 degrees or so. We are doing a slow local loop usually takes 45 mins (PB 34 but we will take an hour or so and finish at the pub, which by coincidence as Wainwrights on tap since last Saturday!!!!! Anything more than that would be silly. How nice it is to have this problem?

I prefer the cooler weather, i mean cooler as in about 15 degrees is fine for riding in, as soon as it hots up like this i get cramp when riding, doesn't matter how much i hydrate, i drank about 3ltr of water with high 5's in it and still cramped up mid ride. i also had porridge before i left the house and 2 bananas and flap jacks while riding It is very nice for sitting in the garden having a cool beer or two though

Today was fantastic - managed 20 miles over the chase doing a few cheekies as well as marked trails, I'll never moan about this weather. Yes it was hard graft but having got through 2 ltrs of High Five treated water, I was fine...

im same as you pez, never complain about todays sort of weather, we dont get enough of it to wish it away. these days are perfect for evening rides or day rides. take a bottle of water to pour over your head, plenty of drinking water, do a shorter easier route, theres all sorts of ways round it.

Well just back after a cracking 2.5 hours .. So much for waiting until it cooled down ... The pics can tell the story ... That singletrack above is not trail centre purpose built for mtb ...but bridleway in the forest ... The man made stuff is 18 miles north of it ..some of it on Deadwater Fell pictured below in the distance By the time I got back to the car the temp.had dropped to 25c...I was bloody nithered! lol Nice way to end with a half bottle of wine and watching the sunset in the garden ...

I was looking forward to tonights ride with a couple of mate. But having spent all night with my head in a bucket I decided against it. Shame really as the weather was so good - would have deserved to cold pint at the end!

It was 22 oC when I set off this morning and by the time i got back to Torvor (Coniston ) it was 30 .. a very hard day and gutted really as id planned another ride quick blast while i was in the lakes today , that said id already done 5 litres of water and then 2 pints of coke when i got back to the pub car park ,, Must thank the rock that took my valve core clean off too , covered in stans gunk The slog up Walna scar was awful ! Hoping things cool off a little ,Ladybower with my lad tomorrow

I've had a similar incident regarding Stans gunk when Andy R's tyre exploded in front of me on a night ride ...it's kinda hard to explain away to the missus when you get back ....

I found it energy sapping when the path got very steep but still loved it. It was better on the move as it provided a breeze. Only did 12k and stopped at the pub for 1 or 3 pints of Enville.

Yes you're right, to keep moving was better, got hotter when I stopped. The climbs were a killer though so I chose a route with minimal climbing. This definitely helped

Gaz 29mm internal width & tubeless..which is why I have been experimenting with lower pressures . The bike does feel really planted though ...and quick . Edit : wheel & tyre spec ..for full info.
