Need to cut down the hoses on my new brakes as the rear one is huge!
I've read the Epic Bleed Guide and all seems fairly straight forward.
Is it really that simple?

Cheers. Can it be done without advancing the pistons?

Simples. It really is.
Measure, snip, add olive and metal insert thingy, reattach, then bleed. Might not even need a bleed but I did it anyway.

Did you advance the pistons or leave as is?

I left as is, but in all honesty I don't find them as sharp as the deores they replaced so maybe I should of. I say try without, it's easy enough to do it later if you want to.

I pushed the Pistons back but don't think you have to, I'd do it just to be on the safe side, then bleed as they may be soft.

aslong as you keep the hose upright and the lever level its pish easy and takes minuites. snip lever end as most shimano brakes now have 2 way bleeding so if you dont alter both ends dont need to dick about with both ends. if you loose no mineral ouil shouldnt need a bleed. make sure you use the little yellow block to clamp the hose when you knock in the little metal thingy flush though. easier this way.

i found to top up the lever it was easier to use the drip beaker rather than the bleed syringe as lets just enough in in small amounts rather than trying to syringe in tiny amounts. just keep the lever level and add a few tiny drops.

Did the back one tonight as I was feeling brave! Seemed to go OK, could possibly do with a bleed. Haven't done front one yet but think that will need a bleed anyway as it feels a bit soft and quite a bit of travel on the lever - thought they were supposed to be pre bled!
