Noticed this on PinkBike yesterday - it's a fascinating read.
Quite eye opening in the fact that there appears to be no set procedures in DH or Enduro for assessing a rider after a crash etc.

Interesting comparisons to 1960's Formula 1 and current UCI events! The pressure of sponsors and team owners etc. to get riders out on the course.
The story of EWS rider Lorraine Truong is heart breaking - but also a cautionary tail I think.
