Wow kalli what a great pressie. Bet you are popular today. That bike looks great. Do you ride much as a family or at 14 does she ride with mates. Love seeing the youngsters being active.

Yeah we get out quite a bit together, most of her mates just ride the local park but she likes riding trail centres such as cannock, degla, coed y brenin and hopton. She also rides some of the natural stuff over the chase and is doing my head in for bike park wales tickets, i think she likes the idea of not having to ride to the top. In short if dad says you can ride down it she will without thinking twice about it. Wish i had so much faith. Our youngest son though has a real roadie mentality, he seems to stick to the fire roads and just wants to get the bike as fast as he can (he as a little cats eye cycle computer and always wants to set himself a new record) think i may have to invest in lycra for him:'-(

that's one lucky girl! Nice bike! Ive started to go out with my (soon to be) 9 year old. I bought her a nice 24 hardtail not so long ago and she is quite keen. i took her for some singletrack riding near me along with her mum who was more scared than my little girl. LOL Rachel Atherton...watch out!?

Brilliant - wish ANY of my family were into it. Yeah I have one and a half out of four (I'm convinced the youngest only does it for the haribos). Its difficult enough getting the eldest two out of bed on a morning let alone exercise

He also loves his little camelbak, sometimes new kit really helps. If we cycle out for a picnic he likes to carry his own sandwiches in it. I'm glad to hear your daughters enjoying it, its great when they share your hobbies and interests.

I got ya, if thats the case you need to get her out just the two of you. As mothers we can be over protective at times. I love this sport and want the kids to do it but sometimes its a constant fight inside watching them try something for the first time, like I'm having to over come my own fears of them getting hurt. Plus it is nice to have that time alone with them.

Yeah, that's it! She even said "if it was a boy...!?"...lol. As if it makes any difference! My girl is quite brave...the other day we did the Go Ape that ends up with a really high, 250m long zip wire and nothing really scared her...she was off! I do have quality time with only one of my daughters alternatively every Saturday...something I truly recommend to parents with more than one child.

Had daughters bike invisiframed today and I must say the guy did a really good job. It was only an extra £20 for him to fit it and saved us the hassle and mess, plus it was fit properly. It's been a little difficult trying to keep her from a proper bike ride till it was fitted, like we had bought her this big expensive toy, then told her she could only look at it:-( . They advised us to give it 24hrs for it to dry properly so tomorrow she should be good to go. Fingers crossed for the weather!!!

His name is Lee Regan and he is the guy that designed invisiframe and makes the kits. The kit was £60 + £20 to fit, £80 in total. I took it to his house and left it for 3 hours, which was just enough time to have wonder around Shrewsbury and get some dinner. It needed to be done as she's going to stack it a few times just getting used to it. I want to get mine done but think I may have to wait now, spent way to much this month.

Next time you go to Invisiframe and Shrewsbury, check Rockguardz out...25 quid for one of those sexy front mudguards...also frame protectors which if they don't have your frame already, they will do you one for free.

I was thinking about one of the rockguardz protectors as my hubby has one on his stumpy. They are good. Stops all the scuffs and scrapes on the bottom of his downtube.

Cheers Kalli.
G, if I had a rockguard or any other type of mudguard on, Beans and Bob would refuse to ride with me - bloody bullies and anti-mudgers, the pair of em.
