OK so this is nothing new to all you guys but for poor old me with my cube and it's 90mm stem and 680 bars switching to the 60mm stem and 740mm bars has been a bit of a revelation. Had my first outing with the new set up today and at first on the flatter stuff and long fire road climb I thought, meh, not any better tbh glad I only threw £40 at it. Then on a bit I hit the first bumpy downhill section and thought, aye aye wait a minute. Then on the next downhill I was falling in love with the new set up. It feels like my wee 100mm forks have been upgraded, the bumpy stuff just feels a lot smoother. It was my first ride for 2 weeks due to hols and took it fairly easy so was pleasantly surprised to see 3 PBs, and all were on the down sections.
Probably the best upgrade (and just about the cheapest) I have done on the bike. Only the forks and wheels are left as standard now......

I did exactly the same on my Cube Reaction - 100mm forks, 90mm stem, flat 680mm bars.
Put some 760mm fubars with a 15 mm rise, 60mm stem and all of a sudden I felt confident enough to take on C-Y-B on it and other stuff it wasn't really meant for.
I remember some snotty sort on the old forum (can't remember the name but a chunt, obviously) sniding and saying 'you can't make it something it isn't' but at the time I wasn't in a position to change the bike - so did what you did! great move!

Grips, saddle, stem and handlebars should always be a personal choice when buying a bike! All of these combined change so many aspects of the bike/ride! Usually the stock ones are always very poor!
